New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano left Sunday night's game in the sixth inning after being hit in the left hand with a fastball from Baltimore Orioles left-hander Troy Patton.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said X-rays were negative.

"He's fine," Girardi said after the Yankees' 6-3 loss. "There are no broken bones. It's just a contusion. He's sore."

The team will re-evaluate Cano on Monday.
