No I dont think we do anything that taps in our cap and takes playing time on our existing players.

He's probably going to get picked up by a contender ... but if they can I'd be happy to see the Blazers grab him

That's the problem, we should be looking for someone for LMA to backup.

Yep because its not like he is considered a top 20 player and a top 5 PF.

I like the backups we have now. We have two new players to test drive. No more players.

Having waived Oden & Johnson, if we buy out Williams, then we'll have an open roster spot. Why not pick up a young PF who posted PER above 15 each of the past two years?

I would jump on signing hickson, he played well for cleveland and could be the backup to lma we have been looking for

This team needs as much talent as it can lay its hand to ... especially the kind of "what the hell, why not" low-risk fliers that the waiver wire represents. In this case, Hickson has been a productive offensive player and at one time might have been considered a building block (when in Cleveland) and if the Blazers could grab him and use him going forward they shouldn't be worried about the Craig Smiths and Hasheem Thabeets of the world (for instance, I'd gladly waive Felton to add him).

No team will ever be competitive with LMA as it's 1st or 2nd best player, and unless the rest of your frontline are rebound record-setters he just hurts more than helps.

Not saying he doesn't have the skills or the body to be a superstar, just doesn't seem to be anything he's all that interested in doing.

I wasn't aware we had a backup PF.

McMillan was considered good by outsiders who didn't know he's a one-trick pony.

I hope the new coach takes a whip to Aldridge and makes a man out of him.

How does that work? If we sign him is he still a free agent this summer? If so ,I see no point.

Yes, he'll be a free agent ... but if things go well for him somewhere maybe he gives the team that picked him up some consideration?

This is surprising.. this guy isn't some scrub like Luke Babbitt. They gave up Casspi and a first-rounder for him...
