Huh, the first African American at the SunTimes? Didn't know that. I shared my memories over at realgm: 1) He wrote a long piece explaining in detail why the Bulls were going to win 70 games before the 96 season. He stuck his neck out and was proved right. That's my first memory of him as a writer. 2) His piece was the first to break ranks with the rest of the media regarding the need for Eddy Curry to get DNA testing. For better or for worse, that was an important piece. I think it hurt Curry, to be honest, but it was probably good for the league as a whole, and it was the beginning of the end for Paxson as a front line gm. He just took things too personally. 3) That weird out of the blue piece ghost written for Eddie Robinson talking about how much he liked to go shopping for tech stuff. Symbolic of Lacy's long slow decline into ever increasing weirdness. God help us that our own decline may not be so public! RIP, Lacy!
