No. I would offer Dragic similar money. According to you, he would balk.

    ^this.

Dre hated Nate's coaching style too. So he confronted him about it and cleared the air, and both of them became better as a result. Felton tanked it under Nate and cost the team wins in the process, while getting the coach fired. I can't believe some of you want to keep him. He's the biggest POS we've had on this team since DMiles.

Felton who isn't as good and definitely sandbagged his first 30 odd games ... I don't get your thinking.

Can someone please put together a picture of a tank with Felton's face on it for me? He'll be back to normal soon enough. And I agree we should send his cancerous ass packing.

I admit, I've been fooled a few times this year into think Felton just might turn it around and show himself worthy of a new contact, but he always goes out and shows me who Failton really is. I'd only sign Felton to a 1-2 year deal for a very low amount if it were like plan G at PG.

I've also considered this because I can't think of any other reason he is still on our roster. But why would Felton cooperate? Nobody is going to be offering him very much so Bird rights won't come into play. Have they made some kind of deal with him; that they will showcase him if he later agrees to sign and trade? They seem to have made some kind of agreement with Crawford; he said something around the trade deadline that the team told him they were trying to trade him because they were afraid to lose him for nothing if he didn't exercise his option. But he said then they talked it out and apparently as a result of that decided to keep him... Did he promise not to exercise it or to cooperate in a sign-and trade?

Does PGOTF mean many years into the future, or just next season? In this league, you should never try to visualize more than 1 year into the future. I always expect major roster turnover.

Maybe the offers he gets will be low. If his cost is flexible, I can take him being here next season, maybe even as a substitute. Then we could get something for him in a midseason trade.

The new Coach might even make us change our minds about him. The Coach might improve his pass decisions, and eliminate the emergency shots he takes at the end of the clock because of McMillan's awful offense system.

Obviously, no player "sandbags." They may be lazy at conditioning like Thabeet, but they are still playing in games as hard as they can.

Can you imagine what troubles this guy would be causing in the locker room if he had to play 2nd string?

Gotta love it when Quick just lays into Felton like he has been lately. It's been awesome.

We're not tanking. How can he fuck it up? The idea that we're tanking is something made up in your head. The players and coaching staff are all trying to win.

Heh.... we traded two of our best players for draft picks and young bench players. That's not tanking? Nobody said the team is tanking... management is tanking.

Blazers are 3 games out of the 8th seed.

If they do make the playoffs, anything can happen, though expectations won't be high.

If they do make the playoffs, Felton may well be a big part of it and his value will go higher.

If they do make the playoffs, the Blazers' #1 draft pick will be just out of the lotto. This doesn't preclude packaging the pick to move up in the draft - that would be how I'd be thinking right now.

Those were smart business moves and both players were playing wildly inconsistent and weren't helping us win, so it was best to get something while we could. Management isn't tanking. There are moves they could make (shut down Aldridge, tell Caleb to evaluate instead of competing) but that's not what they're doing. Tanking is merely in you and your friends Nik and MM's minds. We're playing some of our best ball of the season right now. 3-2 under Canales including wins over Chicago and Memphis. We finally closed a close game tonight, something we hadn't done all year. There is no tanking going on. You're merely wishing we would.

Exactly. You nailed it right on the head. And by the way, we're 3 games out of the 7th seed too.

You're damn right I wish we were tanking, and if the Blazers don't wish it too then they are more inept than I thought.

Do you really want to make it into the 8th spot to get smashed by the Thunder? Or worse yet, just barely miss the 8th spot and get the worst possible draft position for a lottery team?

No, I don't want to get smashed by the Thunder. I want to BEAT the Thunder. Just like the Grizzlies did to the Spurs last year.

As for lottery position, if we don't make the playoffs, you can't predict how the ping pong balls will fall. Maybe we'll win with the very last spot. I remember a late season game in 2007 when some people wanted us to lose to Seattle for better draft position. We won the game and people were pissed but we ended up getting the number one pick as a result. We misused that pick but we got it just the same.
