Its funny when so many people complained about mixum enough to ban him, yet the pessimism is still in full force. Half the people who called for his head are the worst

Most of us were excited about the signing. Hindsight is 20/20, but it looked good at the time. And what else was really available, all things considered?

He's actually still a trade-able asset. Look at what we did last year with Andre on draft day. :devilwink:

Fatty Felton and his terrible season aside, Miller was an expiring contract with a player option - a team could decide to shed some cap room and send us something for JC, or we could make it a bigger deal. I don't expect anything to happen with JC other than he simply declines his option and walks away, but believe it or not, until he does this, he is still an asset to the Blazers.

Let's not go overboard, here. Mixum was pretty damn bad.

The only difference is that with him gone, everyone else pessimistic looks worse because he's not here to compare to. He was constantly posting "the sky is falling" posts, even after fantastic wins and the team was looking good. We were all so focused on him and his crazy-ass posts and blasting him. With him gone, we all focus on each other's posts and blasting each other.

Well, we better be good next year because we don't have a draft pick. I can't think of anything worse than waiting out a crappy season and not even having a nice draft pick as compensation.

    Williams/Flynn
    Williams/Crawful
    Freeland/Joel
    LA/Hickson
    Batum/Matthews

Let LA be the GM, fire the scouting staff and send their salary to our public schools, let the fans vote on the draft pick. Based on the history of the last few years, I think we'd do much better than those pros.

Guess the pessimists need a place to express themselves. While the optimists are too busy being happy to complain about everything.

I'm all for expressing ourselves, but there's a point at which the negativity and pessimism gets unrealistic and overexpressed (which was the point that the poster made that I was agreeing with/responding to). It's hard not to laugh when it seems like in everything and every scenario surrounding the Blazers, there are some posters here who come up with the potential worst-possible outcome, and then put it out there if that's going to be the final outcome (which is what the poster was talking about). It gets a bit overboard and is ridiculous.

If you want to think completely pessimistic on everthing-Blazers all time, go for it. I won't stop you or other posters. Express yourself. But don't be surprised when other posters express themselves by making fun of the overly dramatic pants-shitting.

Deron in a Blazers uniform is pretty enticing. Fuck I'd love to see that happen, but man, that shit just doesn't happen to the Blazers.

    Yes it does.

Of course, in his third pre-season game with the Blazers he'll have a season-ending knee injury and when he does come back, he'll never be the same player he was before. THAT's what it means to be a Blazer fan.

    ;)

With DH12 out of the picture, at least for now, I wonder if they'll turn to LMA to appease D-Will.

How/with what? Dwight is a candidate because he talked openly about leaving, something LA has not.

I'm sure they'd flip Anthony Davis for LMA if they land that pick.

However, I'm not sure if that's even possible under the CBA -- can they draft a player and then trade him even though they owe their 2013 pick to the Blazers?

If playing with LMA is enough to entice Deron, why would Portland trade LMA for Davis when they can keep LMA and sign Deron for themselves?
