I got the idea from the Boston Celtics board so I decided to make a Raptors starting five thread, with the Raptors off-season acquisitions almost finished we can start to speculate of who will get the nod for the starting spot. Also feel free to comment on who, by the end of the season will be starting.Heres a link to the Raptors roster. Although not official Garbojosa, Slokar and Jones will most likly be wearing a Raptors jersey this season.http://www.nba.com/raptors/roster/Keep in mind that Derrick Martin and Alvin Williams will probably wont play this year for us.Beginning of the Season:PG - TJ FordSG- PetersonSF - Graham - I think Mitchell will give him a chancePF - BoshC - NesterovicBy the end of the season:It will probably look similar with Bosh, Ford and MoPete but I think Bargnani and Parker may sneek into a starting spot.

    PG: TJ Ford
    SG: Fred Jones
    SF: Morris Peterson
    PF: Chris Bosh
    C: Rasho Nesterovic

Bargnani is not ready to start. He's soft and he shouldn't be starting/setting the tone underneath. He will/should be used as an energy scorer off the bench to start his career. I don't even know much about Anthony Parker, and seeing how I have only known about him for 4-5 months makes me wonder if he's NBA starting material, especially over Freddie Jones. Ford/Bosh/Peterson are obviously locks.

Peterson has played SF for a long time when Vince was around, so I dont see why he cant play SF again now.

I agree with the fact that Bargnani shouldnt start to benefit his development but I think if the Raptors are performing like..well the Raptors then something is going to have to change and Bargnani could be tossed into the lineup. Bosh, Peterson and Ford are pretty much locked into a starting spot for the season pending a trade or injury happens.

Rasho Nesterovic, they should trade for a better center and they'll be in the playoffs if they land malglorie they have a chance to be in

Rasho is a good start. We just got him, so why trade him now? He is obviously not a part of our future team, but we just got him, and we had a sack of crap at Center last year so it is an improvement. We will atleast try him out.I'm happy about our defensive improvement. I know Fred Jones and Mo can play defense, not sure about Parker, but we should have better perimeter and inside defense next year.

What makes Magloire better then Rasho? Neither are great, just decent bigs. Especially considering Rasho started for the Spurs for the majority of their season last year. He's not bad.

LOL..Rasho was a monster in NBA Live 04 for my franchise!Anyways Rasho is a legit centre so there is no need to complain, yes hes not amazing but hopefully he has something to prove coming to Toronto that its his coming out party after living in the shadow of Duncan and KG. Who I really wanted as the Raptors centre was Nazr Mohammed, he can rebound and do all the dirty work. I remember watching him play for the Knicks..he was a force to be reckoned with at the 5, but then the Knicks traded him to the Spurs for what? Malik Rose! So Mohammed was pretty much pushed to the curve, but let me tell you this guy can play. Oh well Rasho is good too so im happy!

I would rather Magloire because he is quicker and is the better rebounder and defender, but Rasho is not a bad start. He isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

Yes, he WAS an All-Star but he made it in with like 13ppg and 10rbg I dont really see those as All-Star numbers. Im afraid that Maglorie is past his prime..even though he is not old but I dont think he has that spark left in him anymore. I would only take Maglorie if we signed him to like a $6mil/year contract...I wouldnt trade him for anyone on the roster...um maybe Hoffa if we still had him. :happy0144:

Again, he nor Rasho are a difference maker at center. Bottom line. Both can set screens, rebound and defend, who cares if one does it better. Raptors aren't looking for a lot of production out of their center spot.
