Assuming he hasn't been traded, what should we do with him?

I say give him the Darius Miles treatment and tell him not to come around anymore. See ya Jamal. Enjoy the early summer vacation.

I'm surprised they didn't trade him; if they had to take a 2nd round pick and a similar expiring contract back, so what. he is done in Portland. There were supposedly at least two teams interested; can't understand why they didn't get this done. If they think fans will be happier seeing a team play .500 (at best) for the rest of the season, rather than seeing young guys play and maybe getting deeper into the lottery; well, that is just underestimating the fans.

Probably didn't want to take back any salary and I don't think there's any threat of Jamal staying here after this season. He wants out just as badly as we want him gone.

Keep and play. New age. Start him at the two. He is from the nw, I think main beef was with nate and the rotation

Well, looking at New Jersey; yes, they didn't have anyone else on expiring contracts to trade. but seems we could have done something with Minnesota that would have actually saved the team about 1.5 million; Crawford and Thomas for Anthony Randolph and Tolliver.
I think I would also offer to buy him out; it's not like we need to worry that he will be hurting us in our playoff push if he is playing for another team. But maybe he wants to keep the security of that player option, which he might lose if we bought him out?

But, then, if NJ wanted him, and i think they did, why didn't we just include him in the trade for Wallace, the trade still would have worked capwise, and gotten either a 2014 first round or a 2012 2nd rounder? Probably because NJ didn't want to give up the first rounder and Portland thought they could do better elsewhere and didn't want to wait on the Wallace trade. So when the other trade for Crawford fell through, they were screwed?

We should just do what we did with Z-Bo, Gary Trent, JR Rider, Qyntel Woods, etc. If you can't trade the player, frame them for a crime.

I like the way you think.... all we need to do is introduce him to the Hoop Family.

    FGM 8 / 47 ouch! Thats barely 17%.

What evidence do you have that he wants out? Everything I've heard or read about him is that he loves it in Portland and wants to stay. He was glad he wasn't traded. I gather you're projecting? Or do you have some inside knowledge?

He has said many times he wants 1 more big payday so he will opt out. I dont' get that he wants out but I do think he doesn't pick up his option.
