Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? i do..I think if we keep developing what we have now and build around Pierce we could build a championship contender by 2008/09we will probably make the eastern semi-finals this year..and who knows about 07/08?but I think we need to try to at least win the eastern conference championship before Pierce's contract is up to keep him happy...We cant pull a bruins and get rid of our star players..we should build around our star player(s)but i see this team winning a championship in the next decade...at least one
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? Nothing wrong with optimism, but if you honestly think we are going to the Eastern Conference Semi's this year with this current roster.. then I suggest you start following the league more closely. I mean no way Ainge is going into the season with this roster, but let's just say hypothetically that he did: We sneak into the playoffs (6th-8th seed) and have to play one of Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, or New Jersey in the 1st round. We'd be done there. But to predict what's going to happen in the next 10 years is crazy. We don't know how these young guys are going to develope, what Ainge's plan is, or how the rest of the league will look in 5-10 years (I must say, though, we have some incredible young talent in this league). So I'm sorry to bust your bubble, but this current team isn't doing anything in the next couple years (as far as winning goes). We'll just have to wait and see what Ainge's future beholds.
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? Eastern semi's? WTF. You arent close to being on pace with teams like the Heat, Nets, Cavs, Bulls, and Pistons in the East. If you even do make the playoffs, then you will likely be the 8th seed and lose in the first round to the Heat..For the future, it's hard to tell. We don't know which draft picks you will make/whitch FA acquisitions/trades/how your players will progress. As of now though, you're definately not atop the East..
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? lol since when is east semi's "atop the east"?we have a chance to make it that far with the roster we have now..all we have to do is win one round and weve been able to accomplish that almost everytime weve been in the playoffs since 01..but why do you say its such a bad chance? when the nets were known as one of the best teams in the league we nearly beat them in 02/03 with a roster that didnt have Paul Pierce in his prime
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? You will likely be the 8th seed if you even do make the playoffs. So that would mean beating the Heat. Do you honestly think you could do that? Because if you do, your kidding yourself. You might not even make the playoffs. I think the Wizards/Sixers/Raptors/Celtics/Magic/Pacers will battle for the 6th, 7th and 8th seeds.
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? I dunno about the semi's this year, its possible the Celtics could be this year's surprise team but I definity think you have a solid core of young players..even though you kind of have a clog at the gaurd spot. However I definitly think the Celtics could emerge as one of the next best teams..but if your young guys can live up to their potential or hype. My prediction for this coming season will be that you guys will fall under 500 during the beginning of the season and not until the end will the chemistry start to show and develop but it will be too little too late to make the playoffs. Pretty much what I expect will happen with my Euro-Raptors, barley missing the playoffs.

Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? I don't think Eastern semi's is something really crazy to predict. I mean, i don't think we'll make it there, buyt it's only the second round. If we could snag like the 6th seed and play New Jersey, i think we'd have a shot. Plus, we could get lucky and win the atlantic. Then we'd play a team on our level.
Re: See A 'Ship In The Next 10 Years? I think the Celts are championship contenders in 2-4 years or so. They have all the young pieces for basically every position and I think they will all develop. Paul Pierce leading the team doesn't hurt their chances either.
