Rip did play, but boy is he rusty. 5 turnovers in less than 20 minutes. This game ended the Bull's long streak of not losing 2 in a row. Granted, we have a playoff spot locked in and could coast to something better than the 8th seed, I don't see the point. It'd be better to get all cogs in the machine well oiled and fine tuned so we're peaking in the playoffs. Our guard play recently has to be a concern. We're starting to look like a .500 team without Rose - 6-4 the last 10 games while Rose has missed 11 straight.
That the guard play hasn't been a concern up till now has been the luck of the Irish, as far as I'm concerned. Rip does need to get back. He mentioned his shoulder getting tired after a few minutes of playing...It is going to take some time, and yeah, I think we're going to have to be willing to roll with some less than stellar performances in order to get everyone up to speed.
Bingo. Neither JLIII or CJ is a full-time PG, and they've been playing over their head up until recently. The chickens are coming home to roost. Right now I'm not so concerned about our guard play as I am about the possibility that Rose's health is seriously messed up and he won't be 100% the rest of the season.
