But watching the game last night, I noticed that Batum took a shot in the last seconds when the D was just waiting for the game to end. I am a fan of Batum, but that was a damn poor play. But fuck it! I hate Love and his new team, so rub the win in I guess. Oh P.S., don't think that just because we had to take a shot to avoid the 24 second violation was reason. Because it's good sportsmanship to accept the turn over and game over.
The shot clock was off, but I believe it was like a few tenths of a second difference between the game clock and shot clock. My thoughts were that he assumed the shot clock was going to go off and threw it up there. I realize it is normally poor taste to do stuff like that, but I think that was the reason why
Somewhere it was posted (Blazersedge?) that coach talked to Batum and the team about it. Sounded like coach wasn't happy with it. Coach blamed himself for not making it clear.
I didn't get to watch the game. Was the shot clock about to expire? Anybody remember what NYK was doing to us in the final minutes when they were walloping our ass by 30+
It would have been a shot clock violation if he didn't lay it in. he could have shot it instead but it was going to be a turnover otherwise. Sent from my LS670 using Tapatalk
Nic received a pass under the basket and immediately put the ball up. There was less than a seconds difference between the game clock and the shot clock. If the blazers didn't shoot Min would have had to inbound with .6 or something left on the clock. I've seen refs ignore a final inbound before in similar situations.
Batum just flipped the ball up there casually and it fell through the hoop. The T'Wolves weren't bothering to cover him at all, so I don't see how they can be all indignant over this and, given that we don't play them again this year, who gives a rip what they think anyway? Canales blasted Nic over it and Nic apologized, but I think this is one of the silliest unspoken rules in the NBA...not scoring when the game clock is winding down.
I guess thats correct but its lazy reporting. He flipped it up as the shot clock expired then the game time buzzer expired,
The NBA should not stand for this kind of bullshit! They should take away the win and give it to Minnesota. Who's with me?
It was brought up. This nonissue was mentioned on this board when it happened. After the game, Canales' response to reporters asking about it was posted. I don't remember where, maybe the game thread.
