AP - The Pistons signed second-round draft pick Will Blalock to a multiyear contract on Monday. "We are pleased," said Joe Dumars, the Pistons' president of basketball operations. "Will had a good showing at the Vegas summer league and we are excited about his potential and ability to give us depth at the point guard position." The Pistons selected Blalock out of Iowa State with the 60th and final pick of last month's NBA draft.
Good for the Pistons. I am excited to see this kid play. His college highlights showed some flashy plays, and I hope he can bring that excitement to Detroit.
I don't see him wearing the Piston uni that much this year, let alone playing in it. I think him will be used similarly to Acker and Johnson last year. Where he spends some time on the active roster if someone's injured as insurance during a game and spends the majority of the time inactive or in the NBDL.But besides the fact he won't play much unless someone gets injured at the guard spot. I like the fact they signed him to a multiyear contract, so he can learn with the team and improve with the team under our coaches and trainers.
