did anyone see the massive tank job the Warriors pulled against the Grizzlies today? Warriors were up the majority of the game all the way until late in the 4th quarter and it seemed like they realized they were winning and completely went into tank mode. They were down by four with less than 30 seconds to go and refused to foul. Grizz end up winning by four. I guess they have a top-7 protected pick they have to preserve. These NBA tank jobs are gonna be more obvious in the last few weeks of the regular season. Wonder if Stern will address it in anyway.
You guys got tank envy. Already a great day for the GSW tank; GSW gets a clutch loss, Detroit matches us in wins (20), Toronto gets up to 19 wins, Kings and Nets could still help us out. We're tanking, but we also do legitimately suck ass. David Lee is balling but if hes your best player you're going to lose a lot and when Klay Thompson doesn't have a good game its very, very rare that they'll win.
I can hear it now, "Tanker Nation" - down in the Bay Area. Maybe the Warriors change team colors to Black and Silver!
Watching the 4th quarter right now and nobody tanked shit. The team with more talent prevailed. The W's had their best players out there....... they just don't have many.
Of course, living in Oaktown, I've seen how brilliantly the Warriors have handled their high draft picks historically. You know, Joe Smith over Kevin Garnett & Rasheed Wallace, Todd Fuller over Kobe Bryant. Trade Penny Hardaway pick for Chris Webber (good move) then trade Webber for Tom Gugliotta. Dump Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens. These weren't picks that looked good but had injury problems (Steph Curry would be in that category), they were picking duds over stars. Of course, that gave GSW another opportunity to tank and get another high pick...
