The Big East is always loaded, the Big Ten has some talent too, but is there a far and away best conference in College Basketball?

Easily the Big East IMO. To have 8 teams make the tourny is proof enough.

Big East is easily. The competetion in it is unmatched. Everybody in thatleague is a contendor. Let's just list a few teams: UConn, Syracuse, Geargetown, St. Johns, Cinci, Seaton Hall, Rutgers, Providence, Pitt, Marquette, Louisville, Nova, West Va, Notre Dame, South Florida, and I know there is another one, but the point is all of those teams have put up a good team one time or another. Don'tthink USF has? Look at the conference they're in, I bet if you put them in the Pac 10 or Big 10 they would be a top 3 team some years.

guys, how in the hell are you saying Big East easily? the ACC is just as tough, if not tougher. Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, NC State, Maryland, South Carolina, just off the top of my head.

Big East had UConn, West Va, Nova, Geargetown (wouldn't have been mentioned without bug tourney run), Pitt, and Marquette. Much better overall also.

They are the most overrated conference in College Basketball. The only consistently dominant basktball team in that conference is Arizona and UCLA. Cal was basically being carried by Leon Powe and have taken a huge hit by losing him. Stanford just lost their top players and weren't even a great team last year anyways. USC could be a pretty dominant team this season but they have never really been a great basketball team. Oh yeah Washington also has been a very good team and will still be good next season but the loss of Brandon Roy is a huge one for them and will most likely not be a big contender to win the Pac-10 next season. ACC is definetly 2nd best conference in the league behind the Big East.

It has to be the Big East. No one really to compete with them, ACC used to be right there with them.
