In the ever-revolving PapaG circus, your firm new belief is that you hate a coach whose superstar gets him fired. Do you hate Doug Collins too? Grant Hill got him fired in Detroit, then ditched the team a year later anyway.

With your screaming hysterical personality, I'd expect you to love coaches like Van Gundy and Larry Brown.

For that matter, didn't Magic Johnson get Pat Riley fired at one time? Damn worthless coach!

He definitely got Paul Westhead fired.

SVG sucks. It is incredibly stupid to go public and state your superstar wants you fired. It's a player's league. As a coach you had better realize this.

    Tell that to Phil Jackson.

    Or Gregg Popovich.

Of course, those guys are the exceptions. One things players still respect is rings. So, a guy like Phil Jackson or Gregg Popovich still has enough respect and authority to call out players when they are underperforming and get away with it.

Pop is now in his 16th season with the Spurs and you never hear talk of him "losing his team" in spite of riding his players hard and calling them out when they are slacking. The .678 regular season and .597 post season winning percentages have something to do with that, but it's the 4 rings that command the players' respect and allow Pop to still be an old school disciplanarian.

It was Paul Westhead, not Pat Riley. Get your facts straight.

There's only 3 good coaches in the league. Popovich, Rivers and Carlisle. You're only a good coach if you have won a title.

    Duh.

Huh? Clearly I have opinions, such as Stan Van Gundy being an overrated coach who isn't worth the money he'll be seeking.

That is unnecessary. Study any long, long threads dominated by PapaG to learn how to weasel out of admitting errors through obfuscation and redirection.

Well, jlprk, we all have our role models. Personally I prefer my homie Rachel Maddow, who has a segment on her show called Department of Corrections where she corrects any factual errors she may have made (not many, actually).

Phil Jackson would never Michael Jordan in such a way and Popovich would never call out Duncan in such a way.
