    Yeah, you've got to know your audience. Although frankly, I don't think he really said anything that outrageous. It is kind of noteworthy that Castro has stayed in power for so many years, and with little recent help from international allies like the former USSR. Miami isn't the place for a baseball manager to be talking at all respectful about Fidel, though.

    Then how is it they are living the life of Riley in South Florida?

    No, you are talking about the survivors. The ones that got away.

    If you didn't disobey Castro or the government or try to flee Cuba the chances of getting killed were low.

    Castro wasn't Pol Pot or some of the other great genocidal leaders of recent history.

    Miami isn't full of loner orphans from Cuba whose entire family was slaughtered by the hand of Castro or his goons.

    It is full of a bunch of politicized anti-Castro's who are bitterly impatient about Castro hanging on for so long as they have long had plans to swoop in and take over the country and make fortunes "rebuilding", etc.
