Who do you think are some guys that will get their first all-star selection this year? You can put as little as one and as many as you want....Likley Selections To MeDwight HowardChris PaulCarmelo AnthonySomewhat Long Shot Selections Mehmet OkurKirk HinrichLamar Odom
I think Melo is a sure shot this year, also D Howard. I love his play and watching him...very entertaining player..
Tayshaun Prince anyone? He could make it this year but it is up in the air. Chris Paul will make it, he has more weapons to dish to in NOK/New Orleans this year. Dwight Howard was snubbed this year, I say he makes it this season too.Melo is a lock. He got screwed last year and this year they HAVE to vote him in.

Save injuries you can already take away 3 spots for Duncan, KG and Dirk leaving at most 3 more spots to pick between Amare, Marion, Odom, T-Mac (if they list him as a F again), Melo, Artest, Brand and AK.
I do not think Amare will count as a Forward any longer.I'm sure he'll be playing Center.Carmelo might never be an all-star until Artest, AK47, Brand and Marion cool down. T-Mac, Brand and Marion are in their prime and Odom is on the rise. Melo might be in there in 2 years, if not this year.Dwight Howard SHOULD be an all-star, as well as well as Paul.Odom could be one, if he played more agressively and got better at the triangle.
Any Rookies this year? None stick out, because the league has so much talent.Marcus Camby will make it this time if he can resist injuries.Carmelo, Dwight, Chris Paul, and Tayshaun should make it too.
Amare will be playing forward and I don't want to see him at center for as long as I'm watching the Suns, ever again.Dwight Howard should get in. He's a beast. It'll be way too hard for Melo to get in there with all the great forwards in the West. Chris Paul might and Odom can join the many West forwards as a possible all-star.If they count Diaw as a center then he might get in as the back-up but I doubt they do. I can see him being an all-star a few years from now though.
Dwight Howard is a lock. Not a bunch of dominant big men in the East so for sure he'll make it. Besides, he keeps improving his game. All he needs to do is get more touches so he can be more efficent on the offensive end. I hope Caron Butler and/or Gerald Wallace make it, both are very well-deserving if they step up their play this upcoming season. Paul and Anthony are also locks. Sadly, Odom wont make it in the West, that conference is just stacked with good forwards, as Island mentioned above. Also, has Mike Bibby ever been an All-Star before? If not, he should definitely get voted in.EDIT: I've also made this exact same topic a while back, but whatever.

Unfortunatley, I dont see either of them ever becoming an All-Star. Its not because they dont deserve it though...
Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony.I would also LOVE to see Tayshaun Prince go too. I have been watching him since he was pouring 3`s at Kentucky and I am a fan of his.
The way I see the roster filling out.East:Starters:A.I.WadeLebronJOShaqReserves:G: Billups, ArenasF: Howard, PierceC: BoshUtl: Prince, Cartersnubs: Johnson, G. Wallace, Hamilton, Redd, and B. WallaceWest:Starters:Nash KobeT-Mac (if listed as a guard replace him w/ KG and put him in Nash's spot)DucanYaoReserves:G: Bibby, ParkerF: KG, DirkC: Amare (not sure of the coach voting process but I believe Amare will spend enough time at the 5 to get them to vote him in here.)Utl: Brand, Marionsnubs: Melo, Artest, AK, and Odomwhat they need to do is expand the all star roster to 14-15 and allow all reserves to be voted in under the utility role that way a certain position isn't sending someone to the game over a more deserving player who is blocked by his position (see Guards/Centers getting in over some of the forwards)
Melo, D12, and CP3 will all make it, IMO. I also think Kirk Hinrich might make it, and also watch out for Okafor if he can get/stay healthy.
Melo should get the nod for the All-Stae game but again there is too much talent at the 3 and 4 in the West so as long as TD and KG play bascially as..TD and KG then Melo will keep getting snubbed. As for Bosh, his natural position is the PF he only played C for the Raps because we had no legit C but with Rasho in town he'll be able to play PF so competiton at the Forward position in the East is getting crowded too.In my opnion Bosh should start over O'Neal - all O'Neal has done was get injured and recover just in time to play in the All-Star game.

And it's not his fault he gets injured, I mean there is nothing he can do about it. He is a very good player and deserves to be an All-Star starter.
Howard, Paul and Melo deserve an All-Star spot and I would like to see Kirk make it too but I dont think Baron deserves a spot, from last seasons stats his percentages were horrible from the field and the line. About O'Neal..I just dont think he is the best PF in the East and deserves a starting spot. The fans have the say who's in and whos out so I guess the people will decide who in their eyes is worthy of a starting spot.

And he also had somewhere around 18 points I do believe. If he didnt get injured so often, im sure he would have gotten alot of votes this year.
