The draft this year doesn't impress me, so I disagree that this is the most important draft in team history.

I could MAYBE get excited about Lamb. After that? Meh.

    Barnes - Marvin Williams
    Drummond - DeAndre Jordan
Beal - Undersized, average wingspan and dribble. Should have stayed in school.
    Rivers - meh
Perry Jones - Talk about a bust waiting to happen

Marshall and Lamb intrigue the most.

Lamb on potential and being able to create his own offense with nice crossovers and pull up jumpers
Marshall because of his basketball IQ and being able to run an offense

If we draft those two, and start them with Batum, Hickson, and Aldridge, that could potentially be a pretty nice starting five in a year.

It really isn't that important. Hope they land an awesome player.

win the coin flip, and then trade Clyde to Houston for the #2 pick, and go with Olajuown and Jordan.

The most important draft in team history was 2007 and we blew it.

It could be the most important draft in history. If we happen to draft two superstars this year, 2012 would rank as #1.

    Chances is mighty slim.

The 2006 draft was the most important draft that I can remember. Drafting for the rights to Morrison and Foye instead of LMA and Roy, and I'm not even sure the Blazers are still in Portland.

Remember the "Draft the 'Stache" nonsense? I'm sure a bunch of posters here were all gung-ho for Morrison.

The kind of insight a "consultant" might provide.

Would you take 2 back-court players with our lottery picks?
We do have Hickson, Aldridge and Batum as 3 cornerstones but It seems the back-court players would not be BPA (best player available) high in the draft.
Do you take 2 guards with ours and NJ's pick (if we get it) or do you draft a Center with NJ's pick then maybe try to pick by position with ours.

You draft Drummond if he slips. After the first 6 picks the next 7 all seem to be on the same tier prospect wise so grab whoever we think we can develop,

In this draft? If I was sticking to "best player available," (which I would) I guess anything is possible, but the chances that the two best players are both perimeter guys when we select at 7ish and 11ish seem pretty unlikely.

Bradley Beal looks like he maybe a "superstar" if he works hard at it. He has the talent to do so. He has that combo/guard vibe too. He would be able to handle the ball and score at anyplace on the court. If we get lucky enough with New Jersey's pick to drop to #5; we should get him. Obviously if we get really lucky and win #1; Anthony Davis is the dure fire pick; but we can all agree we have a better chance of getting Bynum for Pryzbilla. So I'm hoping we drop to #9. at #9 we would have Kendall Marshall. He is a true PG and I think the BPA at this pick. So basically, we could end up with 2 wing players in this draft, being the BPA at #5 and #9

DOn't know what to think about this draft. Remember how good Evan Turner was the next Brandon Roy and he hasn't done shit in philly!

Turner is a player. Someday Philly will lament dealing him to some lucky team

Well many thought the 06 draft was shit; yet Aldridge is arguably the second best PF in the game right now. Also, Roy became an all-star after his rookie season. That very same draft had some busts like Ty Thomas, Morrison, Bargnani, Williams and Foye; but there were diamond's in the rough like Aldridge, Roy, Gay, Reddick, Rajon Rondo, and Lowry.

Just because Scouts praise certain players doesn't mean those players will be good. It also doesn't mean that if they look down on one, that they will be worthless. I mean Morrison was picked #3 and Bargnani was #1. Then players like Roy was picked #6, Gay was #8, Rondo was #21, and Lowry was #24.

I agree, I really want to target him this offseason. I worry they'll decide to go young, and deal Iggy, give him a bigger role, but I'd happily give either of our lotto picks now for Turner.

This is why I think they will deal "Igs" this off-season because of Turner. I think we have a real good shot at getting Igs; using Matthews, Babbitt, Nolan Smith and our #9-11 pick (where I think it lands). They would go young and have very good pieces to get them there.

It's certainly a risk, but he has the tools for sure. Not sure if he will ever reach elite level, but I could see him reaching Solid starter level....depending on his work ethic, which I know nothing about. Another guy I would like to target with one of our picks is Wesley Johnson
