    “Kizer confirmed several things. Overeem has applied for a license to fight in the state and he will have the opportunity to present his case to the commission on why he should be granted that license, despite failing his pre-fight drug test. Now, some have speculated that he may use the defense of testosterone replacement therapy or TRT as a defense as we’ve seen several fighters do before. Speaking with Kizer, he has said Overeem has not applied for TRT exemption, but that does not mean he can’t. He has time to do that. As long as he gives the commission’s doctors time to deal with the situation. “

    If he manages to keep the fight, it will render random drug testing pointless in the sport in Nevada.

    Because Overeem's camp haven't attempted to have their B-sample tested independently it seems they will not contest the results of the test itself. Kizer is not expecting them to use the therapeutic usage excuse since they didn't apply for an exception. Makes whatever defence they will attempt pretty cloudy.

    TRT for someone of Hendo's age, I can understand. But really, Reem? Really? Go ahead and make TRT a joke. Fucking hate this guy.

    It seems kind of sketchy all around IMO. Clearly Overeem isn't lacking in testosterone, but I doubt Hendo would be either by normal standards. I assume Hendo gets cleared because he needs to compete with these young guys for his profession and he goes with what hes prescribed but it doesn't seem 100% fair that he gets TRT and his opponents don't.

    He's always hit like a ton of bricks, but it is almost inhuman and especially at his age. Gotta wonder how the Fedor and Shogun fights would have gone if he wasn't on TRT.

    The NSAC will meet on Tuesday to discuss Overeem's application for a license but there are rumours that he has withdrawn.
