After looking closer, I'm not sure he has the athleticism for the next level. Marshall is another guy I would be worried about athletically

At least Henson averaged 10 reb, 3 blk. I'm nervous about P. Jones. Same size, but lower numbers and a desire to be the tallest 3 in the league. At least Henson appears to do two things that are valuable in the NBA. Wright was not as long as Henson was he? Wright was an underweight 3/4 tweener. Henson at least has legit length to be a 4.

Wright was measured 6'10" in shoes, with a reach at 7'3.75". Definite length to be a 4.

    Sure, but we shouldn't need a 3rd string 4.

IF it is #6 and #11 POR needs to try and get that #2 stud to put next to LA, at those picks you are looking at

Barnes, Lamb, Rivers, P.Jones or Beal if he somehow miraculously slipped to #6. Take 2 of those players and hope ONE develops as a #2 guy, if you are lucky and\or the new GM is astute maybe you hit on both of them...

Taking Henson, Marshall, Lillard or Zeller screams of reaching for a need AGAIN...that would be a mistake...What this team needs more than anything else is a solid #2 guy to fit in b\t Aldridge (#1) and Batum (we hope a #3 guy)...Take 2 swings at it and hope for the best, fuck position, you go BPA all the way. Address the PG in free agency, you don't need a superstar there, although I would definitely make a run at D-Will and maybe Nash...but a guy like Dragic or maybe even Arron Brooks would suffice enough next to an Aldridge\Batum and 2 of those 4.

I might be one of the few who thinks Davis will not be a star in the NBA. Not strong enough. Built like KG, but doesn't have his handles and outside game.

He was a PG in high school. He has plenty of handles and outside game. Kentucky didn't need him on the perimeter shooting jumpers. They had plenty of those guys already.

    P. Jones is an interesting case. I heard one analyst rave about his potential once he leaves the Baylor system.

From what I saw it had nothing to do with any kind of system. It had to do with him drifting around and not looking enthused about playing.

Yeah, but he was only 200 lbs. 6'11" and 220 is a pretty significant difference. And Wright was only 6 boards and 1.8 blocks. Henson is 10 and 3.

Henson reminds me of the other 2 long, lengthy, raw, left-handed projects that came out of UNC named Brandan Wright and Ed Davis.

Might be a player that contributes, but I don't see anything special out of them. Maybe a Stromile Swift ceiling? Blah.

Agree in concept, except I think Portland still needs a #1. I like LA, but I don't think he will every be a #1 on a contender. Beal is the only one I see who seems to have that ability. I would be interested to see if MKG could be the #1. Not sure we could get him (trade 2 picks for 1?), but he certainly has the leadership skills. Not sure if he will develop fully though.

Now that I think of it, UNC's track record in the pros in the last 5-10 years has been sub-par considering the multiple National Championships in that time.

Henson spent the past few summers training with Rasheed Wallace.

But I think a lot will depend on his measurements. He's only 220 lbs., is he a legit 6'11", etc.

yep, again, was commenting solely on his length, you asked if he had the length to be a 4. he wasn't a 3/4, he was just an anorexic 4.

can't believe how bad NO is at tanking. they've gone from solidly contending for #2 to potentially looking at #4 or worse.
