Aside from BPA, and who has what pick, what would be your top ten picks in order of how much you would like to see them on the Blazers? Here's mine: 1. A. Davis 2. MKG (could become heart and soul of the team) 3. T. Robinson 4. A. Drummond (I'm concerned about his motor and desire to play or he'd be #1) 5. Marshall (He's the kind of PG I would like to see on the team) 6. J. Henson (I don't see a lot of difference between him and A. Davis) 7. J. Lamb (too many useful NBA skills to pass up) 8. Beal (not excited about the next E. Gordon) 9. M. Leonard (athletic 7-footer with some upside, could be legit) 10. Sullinger (not tall or athletic enough for me, but maybe at 10) Not on list: Barnes (too one-dimensional for me in the top 10, less athletic version of Martell?) P. Jones (not sure he has the drive or what position he would play) A. Rivers (a slower Monta Ellis? No thanks) T. Jones (didn't like Al Harrington either) Lillard (just say no to combo guards) T. Zeller (best reviews are that he will be a nice backup C, meh)
I reserve the right to change mine once official measurements are done 1. Anothony Davis 2. Andre Drummond 3. Jeremy Lamb 4. MKG 5. Thomas Robinson 6. Kendall Marshall 7. Marquis Teague 8. Tony Mitchell (North Texas) 9. Bradley Beal 10.Terrence Jones Honorable mention Perry Jones Myers Leonard Harrison Barnes I think a lot of people are underestimating the UConn kids. They had chuckers at PG, and Lamb and Drummond suffered from it
I agree with your (Reep) board except I dunno about Leonard, and I wouldn't touch Lamb because he's a selfish gunner and UConn stunk. Question: can MKG eventually play SG? The book on him is that he has PF skills in a SF body? He's sort of the anti-Lamb: all character and hustle but lacking skills. I would move Barnes into the top ten because at this point the backlash is such that he's now underrated.
The UConn guys are hard to gauge this year. Their coach was out for a while, and they lacked leadership. Lamb looks like he has a great length, can shoot and can defend. Does he have an attitude, or was he just in need of someone else to lead on the team? Not sure. Given he did well the year before I cut him some slack. I wonder if Barnes will slide on draft day? MM, I'm curious about what you like in Teague and Mitchell (wow, he put up some amazing stats last year, I can see why you like him).
Not like Im going way out on a limb here but I have a feeling that one player is gonna drop way lower than originally expected and one player is going to shoot way up. I think Beal or Robinson will drop and I think Marshall will go up. Marshall seams like the type that will impress someone big time in a workout and someone will draft him a bit too high. And it only takes one team to luck into a top 3 spot to mess of the needs of everyone else.
I like Teague because he is a great athlete and unlike his brother is a true PG as well. I like Mitchell because he is the second coming of Kenyon Martin. I think both players games translate really well to the NBA game
Such a crapshoot to rate players... I do think the top 3 players off the board will be Davis, MKG & Robinson... After that Beal probably...Drummond is listed as top 5, and he is probably one player who it seems is rated higher than I view him...top 10 pick, yeah, top 5? I am unconvinced. After that you have the "2nd five" guys like Lamb, Rivers, Barnes, Henson and Sullinger.... Those are my top 10 although, I think there will be a reach pick or two in there somewhere...a team overraching for a guy like Marshall, Lillard, Zeller, maybe Leonard. Sullinger is top 10 worthy, but he has some injury\health concerns IMO (one leg shorter, back issues). Then my list of guys who I think might be better than where they are picked: Wroten, T.Jones &, D.Waiters Top 5 for POR (not including top 3 players b\c if POR got the #1 A.Davis is a no brainer and if they got #2-#3 then MKG\Robinson would likely be the call, maybe Beal could sneak in there) 1) Beal 2) Lamb 3) Rivers 4) Barnes 5) P. Jones 6) Henson 7) Drummond 8) Wroten 9) T.Jones 10) Sullinger
Every draft, several Europeans slip into the top 10 who weren't there in tbe mock drafts. So some Americans who currently seem out of reach to us will still be available.
Portland Draft Board - TRADE BOTH PICKS for proven talent that are in the same age range as Batum and Aldridge... and D.Williams.
There really aren't any Euros this year that will even make the first round. It's a weird year for that
Evan Fournier will http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Evan-Fournier-5719/ http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Evan-Fournier-Stepping-Up-in-France-3899
They say that every year. The after the draft, they act like everyone knew there would be plenty of non-Americans in the 1st round.
1. Davis 2. Gilchrist 3. Robinson 4. Beal 5. Drummond 6. Marshall 7. Leonard 8. Lamb 9. Jones 10. Barnes
I didn't say I loved him from the beginning. I said I was the first to teach this board about him. It wasn't a love at first sight thing. He wasn't the first apple of my eye, but he had a great personality and we ended up sticking.
