<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Fran Vasquez Signs Huge Deal With FC Barcelona 26th July, 2006 - 11:32 am Mundo Deportivo - A Spanish sports newspaper is reporting that 2005 Orlando Magic lottery pick has signed a long-term contract with a large buyout sum with FC Barcelona. The deal is a four-year contract. He will earn 1.4 million euros ($1.75 million USD) per year and he will have an approximately 8.5 million euros ($10.75 million USD) buyout.</div> What a f*cking prick. Orlando goes through all the trouble for him and he screws them over. Thank god their are few foreign players stupid enough to do something like this.

I just laughed when I read this. Come on man, Orlando spent a lot of time and money on this guy to scout him, then made him a lottery pick, and then he signs a 4-year deal in Spain? That's cold. Why doesn't he want to come over and play here anyway? The NBA is easily the best league in the world, and he could really better himself playing over here. He would even get some minutes off the bench in Orlando. I guess he would rather keep being a star over there rather than take his game to the next level.

Wow, he sucks!! Orlando did everything to try and get him to come over and play for them and now he throws it back in their face. But I think that Orlando is set anyways without him... It just goes to show that not ALL international players can be trusted to do the right thing... :no3:

I figured he would go overseas for a year or two to develope his game, but then he signs this 4 year deal? Bullsh*t.

This guy was the 11th pick in the 2005 NBA draft with a lot of promise in his game (supposedly). He then just goes back to Europe and signs a 4-year deal with his team..the management must be really ticked off but at the same time they still have a great core of young talent: Nelson/Howard/Milicic.

That is retarted. Why would he stay there when he could go to the best league in the world and most likley get payed more. I dont understand this move at all on his part. Now, he is just going to get older and older in euro leagues and his stock for the NBA is going to lower and lower. I dont understand why the buyout is so much though...that whole system of buyouts never made much sense to me.
