    It's simply different. You could also say that for-profit companies aren't so good, because you can't tell AT&T how to spend the revenue from your cell phone bill.

    And you want me to believe those neighborhoods are populated by government employees as opposed to lobbyists and corporate employees and the like?

    If only government employees were paid less, all our problems would be solved! What fraction of the total federal budget is for salaries again?

    You don't have to buy a thing from AT&T nor give them $.01. Not true of government.

    There's no strawman. You seem to want Obama to have their money to spend.

    If someone believes govt. is the cure to all ills but goes out of their way to see their money go elsewhere, they're a hypocrite.

    Govt. employees' pay is a strawman. I'm fine with them being well paid, just there shouldn't be many of them to be well paid.

    It is clear that Obama should have done joint tax planning with his secretary. By comparing budgeted tax returns before Dec. 31, she could have, just in time for the holidays, refunded thousands of her own salary to him, decreasing her income while increasing his, so that his tax rate would exceed hers. Then Republicans would not have been forced to suffer this emergency outrage.

    Have you ever considered that he did this on purpose to demonstrate that what he's been saying is true?

    If Romney mentions this in speeches, he will only prove Obama right. So he won't.

    Why should Obama shut up when he just finished proving himself right?
