Now the pang of fear and resentment I feel every time Chamakh is put into the game (and to be fair to him he was decent last time out) should subside with a more than serviceable striker to bring on. Dunno if Wenger might even want to put him up the left in the starting eleven. If Gervinho insists on never scoring again it might be necessary, especially if Ramsey can't get hot again.
Big statement of intent from our manager. This is pretty much the earliest we can sign a new player, rather than waiting 'till the 11th hour to sign one like last time. We could still use another experienced defender and a veteran midfielder to replace Benayoun, plus one or two decent reserves. This is a good start.
Podolski's 18 in 30 this season is outstanding. If we can pick up a goalscoring midfielder, we're illin'.
