Please, no one take offense to this, but he reminds me of Dwade a little bit. He has good court vision, he is a combo guard, he is really quick and athletic, both are great at attacking, he is a decent defender, and both can't hit threes. Seriously, he reminds me of Dwyane alot. I'm sitting here watching a summer league game. It's the Sixers vs. the Jazz, and he is just killing it. Whenever he gets the rock, he just blows by the defense and gets a ticket to the line, or a bucket.I think he and Deron will be a great backcourt for the Jazz, and they will finally be able to solve the Jazz's backcourt woes. They have a great team for the future now. Besides Deron they have Okur who was impressive last season, do everything-Kirilenko, and a talented player in Boozer, although his future in Utah is questionable. The Jazz are on the rise people
The Magic will forever be known as the team that passed on Ronnie Brewer....Brewer is an absolute stud.
>_>. Man...Houston should've picked him if they didn't want Rudy. Geez. I wanna slap Dawson across the head.

He was the perfect fit for them, they totally screwed up on picking Redick. They already have some decent shooters in Turkoglu and Garrity. Nelson/Brewer/Howard are a trio that would have a shitload of potential and talent.
I think the Magic took Reddick for name recognition, because he obviously isn't the best fit for them, and with that back he may not be anything more than a Jim Les. I'm also very impressed with Brewer, and I think his defense will be what gets him playing time. I'm hoping that by midseason, he'll have made it into the starting lineup.

On the contrary, I think JJ Redick fits in very well with orlando. Jameer Nelson can kick out assists, and you know that Dwight Howard will be drawing attention for threes from jj from some good ball movement. Um, anyways.. :focus:
Well, I was going to start a new Ronnie Brewer topic, but I'll just add on to this one: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/424...s_at_the_point/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ronnie Brewer will be evaluated at the point guard position as camp unfolds, with a possibility for minutes at that position along with shooting guard and small forward. "I don't know if Brewer can play point guard or not," Sloan said. "Those are things we have to look at, and try to evaluate as much as possible."</div> I absolutely love Ronnie Brewer, and I also can not understand why Orlando didn't take him, even though I do think the JJ pick was better than people think. Brewer is very athletic, he's very versatile, he has a weird looking jumper but it's solid, he's a very good defender, he can handle the ball, he's unselfish and he has good vision, and he hustles. He not only brings athleticism, some scoring, and 1-on-1 defense, but he brings the necessary intangibles: he rebounds well for a guard, he's all over loose balls, he plays smart in the passing lanes, and he's really good with switches off screens (<--- a very underrated intangible on defense). I am happy he's getting looks at 3 positions, and I'm glad Sloan is developing confidence with his skilled rookie. I am very confident that Ronnie Brewer will be an excellent player in this league for a long time, and I think he can (and will) succeed as a 3-position player. Way to go Ronnie!

The Magic needed a three point shooter to open things up for Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. Ronnie Brewer is not nearly the three point shooter that Redick is, and will never be the three point shooter that JJ Redick is. Brewer on the court would have made it easy for other teams to crash down on Dwight Howard down low, because they would not have to worry about Brewer making alot of outside shots. Redick was a much better pick for the Magic than Brewer.

If teams try to gang up on Dwight then have the option to kick it out to JJ for the open shot. Smart move by the Magic, Ronnie might be the better player but Redick is a better fit for the team.
