I'd really like to see Paul score another pick in the mid-teens. Maybe Houston, Philly, or Phoenix. If we could secure another pick, we might be able to move up or snag a guy who drops.

If you go off Draftexpress' latest mock, they've got Lamb falling to 12th and Marshall at 14.

If we ultimately end up with the 6th and 11th, it would be great to pick up the 13th or 14th and grab one of the guards that slips.

    Maybe something like:

    6th Harrison Barnes
    11th Jeremy Lamb
    14th Kendall Marshall

That would be a pretty solid draft. Add those three guys to a core of Batum, Hickson, and Aldridge and you've got some explosive scorers. It would take a bit more of our cap space, but unless you think we're getting Deron, we probably only need 9 or 10 million to snag a guy like Dragic. It would be nice to pick up a vet point and forward to go with our rooks.

Seeing how hard it was to trade exp contracts for late first round picks I doubt we could get someone to sell us a pick or even take on some of our young guys for one. Dont' think either PHX/Houst would bite on a Willaims/Babbit for their pick package.

I would sell off Mathews for a pick if someone with space would do it. Clear some space and get a pick.

Don't think we can get a pick in the teens for Mathews. If we can't i'd just rather keep him.

Your assumption is that other teams value Felton or Crawford more than $3 million. For that much, we might get a pick near the end of the 1st round. If this is truly a strong draft, a #30 would be like a normal #22 pick, a Rudy or Batum.

Quote me -- Marshall will climb into the top-10 during workouts.

Mid-teens I'd target Terrence Jones or maybe even Meryers Leonard.

At #6 I'd look at filling the PG position -- If we make a push for Tyreke Evans (a playmaking SG) I'd go Lillard -- if not, I'd go with Kendall Marshall.

Assuming Tony Mitchell from North Texas actually is in the draft, I'd love to buy a pick and get him

    Dude, we're reloading, not rebuilding.

It's been hinted and mentioned many times now, the team wants to reload and bring in age-similar players to pair with Aldridge. That probably means trading our pick(s) to get experienced players here. We don't want to rebuild through the draft.

Miller and Buchanan have both said so much.

I can't wait to read this board when Portland trades it's pick for an age similar vet like Felton and Crawford were.

I'm okay with that as long as they don't suck like Felton and Crawford did.

Like an article I read said, after Paul, Felton and Crawford were the best on the market. They should rename the Blazers war room to the Panic room

I agree. He is appears to be the only true PG in the lottery and with the PG position becoming the most important position on most teams, i find it hard to believe Marshall will fall out of the top 10. The video of his 16 assist game against Florida State was impressive. He makes difficult passes look easy. I think we may have to roll the dice and draft him higher than he is projected.

I'd like to stay away from Terrence Jones. I've only heard he's a prima-donna.

lol, well at least that would go along with POR history of terrible drafts....reaaching for Marshall at #6 and Meyer Leonard at #11...wow...fucking horrible...

Since Portland is hell bent on adding vets, using our pick to land Lowry would be a good move, and if the NBA wants to help NJ out next year instead of this, using the other pick for someone like Evans would be a good move. Then try like hell to sign Spencer Hawes, re-sign Batum and Hickson, buy a pick in the back end of the draft to take Qunicy Miller and be done. If Freeman comes over our team could look like this.

    Lowry/Williams/Smith/Second round chance
    Evans/Matthews/Williams
    Batum/Babbitt/Miller
    Aldridge/Hickson/Freeland/Second round project
    Hawes/Hickson/Freeland/Same second round project

It's nowhere near a contending team, but with the Blazers game plan, it could be a lot worse

Whoever it is might suck, but so might the draft picks.

Less of a risk to go with proven NBA players than draft choices, but both are a risk.
