http://www.bloomberg.com/video/91689761 Watch Ron Paul destroy Paul Krugman in a debate over fiscal policy.
It's funny to see how different views skew things. I was presented this debate as Krugman destroying Ron
Trying to argue with Paul that his economic ideas don't work in a post-agricultural economy or that the vast majoirity of peoplle in the pre-Fed Untited States lived either on subsitance farming or in abject poverty doesn't change his mind. In his mind that was how it was supposed to be, you have the freedom to be rich - but most will be very, very poor. This also doesn't mean the Fed hasn't over-reached and isn't lessening the severity of the recession, but lengthning the time frame at the behest of the poitical class who can't stay in power in a real 1929 scenario.
Krugman is the fool. Anyone notice in the early republican debate when Ron Paul said a gallon of gas costs $.10? He was talking about a silver dime, which was worth (the silver content) about the same as a gallon of gas at the time. One of the two clearly understands the value of money. The post-agricultural economy argument is specious at best. The US minted silver coins through 1964, and left the gold standard in the early 1970s. That wasn't agricultural economic times.
Well now, I wasn't trying to say anyone was a liar, but that it was subjective. Thanks for "waking me up" denny.
