There is a "fire Paul Allen" fan club here, but honestly, has anyone been a worse owner than Jordan? Even Donald Sterling had done better, and that's saying a lot.
Paul Silas is a better coach than McMillan, especially to teach forwards like Aldridge. I'd love to have him, but I'm guessing he will just retire since he's about 70 and Charlotte is his home, even before he was made Charlotte head coach this 2nd time. When Silas was head coach in San Diego he improved Walton, and put up with Wicks. But where he really shone was in making Divac and Campbell into stars, when he was assistant to Cowens, and then head coach when Cowens quit, because the Charlotte owner lost Divac and Elden Campbell in one summer. Don't forget how he taught young Sikma about elbows, getting the Sonics into the Finals 2 years in a row, and before that when Silas was the best PF in the league. I'm sure my readers haven't forgotten this. Anyway, this guy would help us!
My point was that he has a history of big men (I left out guards and wings) and our underdeveloped man-child is a PF (in theory, don't hurt his feelings and mention his rebounding). Silas would make a man out of our supposed best player.
I don't want an old coach. We need a coach that is young and able to get through to the new generation of players. Yes, seniority earns respect, but sometimes it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Some of these coaches are becoming too overwhelmed by the new technology and how it can help a coach figure out every little thing on the court. We should look at coaches that embrace technology and has an open mind to try something new.
Maybe the organization should think outside the box and hire a GM first? I know it's crazy, since the GM is the coaches boss and all, but crazier things have happened. If they get to my resume, and realize I am clearly the best choice left who will actually take the job, my first call will be to Mike Budenholzer
I agree with this 100%. We need a GM, and I think a GM would want the opportunity to pick "their" coach they are comfortable with.
Nate would actually do well in Charlotte. They have a good chance of getting the #1 pick and a lot of cap space. They have a really good opportunity to build a good roster. Maybe Jordan should hire him
Przybilla doesn't have it anymore, and Camby got injured a year ago, and Wallace didn't bring it this season like he did the last, and Andre is gone, so Hickson is now the best. This is indisputable. His German name sounds like the Beer Guy who sits next to the Free Throw Guy.
