nah, me and my wife went through a long list of crap songs like that that our DJ could not play at our wedding. Forbidden from line dances, macarenas, things of that nature.

the wedding itself is whatever, its the reception. i hate those fucking things.

like if you're in the wedding party and have to get introduced they make you do some stupid freestyle dance when they introduce you. just all so damned formulaeic. fuck vegas. barefoot wedding on a beach. make it far enough so people won't want to come.

Typically the bride's parents pay for the wedding, and the groom pays for the rehearsal dinner.

Hey Zags, who is going to pay the bus fare to the Court House for you two?

i mean they're fun, i just don't like the ones where my family is there because I feel weird trying to get up on a chick in front of my aunts and uncles, so awkward.

Yeah, that can be awkward. My family is pretty liberal ex-Catholic boozers so there's no shame in our game.

I'm out of the wedding zone for now I think. No one I know is getting married anytime soon. Problem is, at my age, all the bridesmaids are already wifey'd up.

yeah, something like a backyard BBQ or something like that would be mad chill. drink some brews, have a good time bullshitting instead of a lame reception where you don't even talk to people and they're just there to eat $100 steak and salmon plate and drink $15 cocktails on your dime.

I got married in Big Sky, Montana, at this place. Of course, I was only 26, so we did it on a budget. People still remember our wedding, though, and we did it on a budget.

My wife wasn't fat then, though, so she could fit through the doors.

My "open bar" cost $1k with wine, beer, and house liquor. I was just out of grad school at UO, though.

My good buddy from college got married 10 years later at a resort that Jack Nicklaus was staying at the same night. Cost him $13k for the open bar for 150 people. Do the math. lol
