    A couple of thoughts

    1. Amare or LA could easily play center

    2. Chad drafted Nolan Smith over Manimal, so he doesn't have a lot of credibility :D

    1. Not really.

    2. Thought you had it pegged as a McMillan pick?

It was a McMillan pick. Chad as GM, needs to step up though. It still falls on him

There is a reason why NY would get rid of him cheaply:

    *Primarily a pick&pop player -- lost explosion
    *Max contract
    *Nearly 30 years old

For the Blazers to even put out "interest" is fucking bullshit.

Chad Buchanan is truly an idiot.

Of course, that's if this is even true. But how bad Buchanan is this wouldn't surprise me.

Are the fire extinguishers at the Rose Garden made of plastic or glass?

Interim GM v. 7-year head coach and Paul Allen favorite Nate McMillan

Who do you think has more pull in this situation?

Anyone who would be dumb enough to let Nate McMillan choose the pick has no business being an NBA GM.

Let's not forget, this was the guy who was convinced that Taurean Green would make a difference.

He was the freaking interim GM for like a month

He had little to no pull in that draft room

Head scouts aren't in charge of making big decisions.

They know (or should know) a hell of a lot more about talent evaluation than Nate McMillan.

Doesn't mean they get the final say.

My point is, the guy is/was paid to evaluate talent. If he can't convince Paul that his pick is better than the one coming from a guy who thought Taurean Green was going to be a solid pro, there's a problem. That's been the problem for years now. The organization is full of yes men who are too scared to tell Paul the truth.

I don't think anyone will argue the organization is full of yes men who know their role and won't get in the way.

Chad just saw Cho get fired for wanting to blow it up. You really think Chad was about to try and overrule the room?

    I don't think so.

I can see getting input from the Coach on trading for vets they get to see play and have to game plan for. But what NBA head coach has time to evaluate the players entering the draft? None if they are spending their time doing their job. Nate was always rumored to get one pick per draft. And each player he was rumored to have picked, sucked. Bah.

Portland's season ended at the end of April. The draft is at the end of June.

About 2 months to look at players. Seems like plenty of time, especially when picking in 20's.

You would think so, but he was still a horrible evaluator of talent. Not that Chad is much better.

This is purely hypothetical that an ESPN writer came up with. There is no rumor out there that links us to Amare.

I might take him off their hands for nothing, and I mean nothing. I wouldn't give them a draft pick. I wouldn't give them a good player. If we sign a decent point guard and still have cap space, I might consider putting something together, but I have a very low opinion of him and I don't think he's even worth taking up cap space.
