It would kill every living thing within 550 miles of Portland, and make the ground infertile for thousands of years.

I'd bet money that Morway wouldn't have picked Nolan Smith over Kenneth Faried.

I have read that Bird's definitely retiring after this season, he believes that his helpers aren't good enough to replace him (including Morway and Pritchard), so he will hire his replacement from outside the Pacer organization. The new guy may want to choose his own subordinates and give the boot to Bird's. So the Blazers are thinking that a GM with experience yet a non-ego team player has a motive to leave his job, and wouldn't be hated for quitting, a combination which is unusual and perfect to fit here with Miller and the Vulcans

He's being forced out. It's why KP was brought in ... to take his place next year.

So basically the Blazers are interested in a guy that has been a yes man to Bird all these years?

    Sounds promising

OK, he made the great trade with the Blazers; got Mc Roberts, Rush and Jack for Bayless. traded aging Jermaine Oneal for rights to Hibbert, got Darren Collison for Troy Murphy, and also obtained George Hill for very little. Not bad! Drafting seemed OK also, never had any top 10 picks; but most of the guys he picked are still in the league and not sitting in Europe.

Certainly sounds like a better option than the Bucks' GM. I can't remember the last time Milwaukee has been anything other than mediocre to awful. Although I'm concerned by the Pacers' lackluster playoff performance vs. Boston.

"candidate" is such a vague word. Half the people on this board consider themselves candidates

He said no because he was intimidated by the long list of candidates. I don't blame him, I mean who could compete with the list the Blazers must have in front of them?

Either that or he saw Bert was in charge and said "Fuck no"

Or, he dared to ask if he could hire his own coach and initiate trades. Was told no, and said "Fuck no"
