its archived on espn3 if you have access to that. I missed the game live but am catching piece by piece throughout the day.
Did any of you see when Mariota fumbled the ball and recoverd it? Anybody know why that happened? Armstead without even knowing the playbook abused 305 pound Hamani Stevens and pushed him straight into Mariota, knocking him down. I tell ya what the Ducks defense is going to be freaking evil over the next few years. Especially if we grab Vanderdous and Micheal Hutchins. Just imagine a 4-3 of Arik, Vanderdous, Bair and Deforest Buckner with Hutchings crushing anything that gets behind them? That is a defense reminiscent of the Miami Hurricanes during the Sapp or Ray Lewis days.... As for today having Dion Jordan and AA plus Alonso I think some helmets are gonna fly this year too!!! Very Happy about the Ducks defense and where it's going!!
I love a good defense even more than I love a good offense. I can't wait to see what the Duck defense looks like this year.
Barkley is gonna get worried. People give him a lot of credit, but when he went up against good teams(Stanford, Ducks, Utah) he flopped a little. Now is make or break this year.
I find it funny, that the Oregon Ducks took the #1 overall pick in the draft, a master of running a pro style offense, and took him to the cleaners not once, but TWICE. Yet people flock to him like a god. And Stanford will return to mediorcity for the future
I like Stanfords coach, so I'm not convinced they'll take to much of a hit, further they have one hell of a recruiting class this year and I'm interested in seeing B Sander's kid play too. Unlike USC who's coach is a meatball, Stanford might be tough in the next few years!
I doubted Mariota.. but the kid can play.. he has such a pocket prescense.. Such amazing footwork.. He's just so good. I guess it won't be fall till we know, but he made a statement.
Mariota in the next 4 years will be either a 2nd round, at best, or a 4th round pick of a QB. The man is a friggin steal.
I think Mariota will be a top 20 pick in the NFL when he decides to leave Oregon after a national championship or so!! I think he's what the pros had hoped Matt Leinart would be with more athleticism! The one thing about Mariota that is very rare is how POISED he is running the offense at such a young age + he's got very good touch with his ball and you can see the recievers feel more comfortable catching his passes. Not often do you lose a QB with a winning % like DT and feel more confident going into the next year but the Ducks have two QB's right now that I think are upgrades to what we had last year.
I agree but disagree.. Mariota reminds me alot like Dennis Dixon. Speed and Elusiveness with a great arm and makes good reads, but he is fragile. I do feel alot more confident at WR and QB position if Mariota is the starter.. but I am a little worried about RB.. I know KB is good to go, but Byron Marshall needs to be ready to step up like Lamike did for us in 09
