W.Matthews will be representing the Trail Blazers at the draft lottery. FYI http://www.iamatrailblazersfan.com/ArticleDisplayPlaceholder/tabid/192/ItemID/3110/Default.aspx
I've definitely cooled on Jared Sullinger -- One leg is an inch shorter than the other. The Blazers have been down this road before. No thank you.
The Bulls are searching for a SG -- I wonder if they'd bite on the #11 for Mirotic. Jeremy Lamb/Austin Rivers with Derrick Rose would be an intriguing backcourt combo.
Props to the Boston Celtics for not trying to turn Avery Bradley into a PG. He's a glue player and plays off the ball extremely well and his defensive IQ is extremely high; more than holds his own against 6'7"-6'8" SG's in the playoffs despite being 6'2" Yet another player Fez Hammersticks was high on during the draft: LINK Seraphin Mirotic Cousins Faried Rubio Bradley Fez >>> Chad Buchanan.
so best bet is mid tier starting caliber PG....no thanks.... This team needs top shelf talent....Why draft Marshall when you could easily sign a player as good or better than his best projections in free agency?
The same things were being said about Rubio because he was a below average athlete but he ran that offense and made life easier for his players. Marshall is underrated.
[via HoopsHype] The anti-Faried. He needs a George Karl type of coach. His size and athletic ability is why I like him as a prospect but his feel for the game and motor are two reason why you (should?) pass on a player like him.
Here's somebody for one of our second-round picks: Kostas Papanikolaou. He should be automatically draft-eligible, and he was the leading scorer in Olympiakos's shock defeat of NBA-quality CSKA Moscow today. (And he was pretty awesome in their shock defeat of Barcelona on Friday.) A real glue guy. (Tournament MVP over Kevin Seraphin) "One of the top prospects in the world" (!) Dunk contest! Say what you will about Oden off the court but I don't think he lacked desire on the court, he played hard. He never lacked a motor. He was constantly helping on D to the point he was always in foul trouble (couldn't keep his damn hands straight up). He was also good at boxing out. If you watched Drummond he stands around and waits for the ball to come to him. Also drummond's effort is really predicated on his offense, if he's involved he has a lot more activity, he needs motivation.
Exactly. Oden got injured. Other than that he really was a once-in-a-generation prospect. Drummond just isn't close.
