LaMarcus Aldridge underwent successful surgery today to repair a labral tear in his right hip. Dr. Marc Philippon performed the surgery in Vail, Colo., with Dr. Don Roberts present. Aldridge is expected to make a full recovery.
The Olympics are in 3 months. Colangelo needs a refinement of the when. He's not just making small talk about the whether.
I would be completely shocked if he did participate in the Olympics this summer, 3 months is a helluva tight window to rehab from a lower extremity surgery like this, not to mention get himself into some kind of game shape.
I agree, if he hits it on the low side and it only takes him 2 months thats only a few weeks get in shape and to learn the system before participating in the tournament. The only reason I want LA to play in the Olympics is because of the prestige that comes along with it, would hope this makes refs call more fouls for him and it lights a fire under his ass to stay in the post and not always fade away.
It would be beyond stupid. If I were his employer, I'd sue him to keep it from happening if I had to.
I've heard word from the Blazers medical staff that he should play, saying it will "build character" and "put hair on his chest.". The medical staff then spit into a spittoon, got on a horse, and headed back to the mine for more prospectin' before the sun sank too low in the ole sky.
