Sly, in all respect, I understand every detail except one thing, and that is the time-space shift, commonly called retroactivity. Literally hundreds of us have insulted Canzano. What if he strategically gets revenge by registering, say as SecretAgentMan, loitering a few weeks, then announcing his true identity? If the principle of retroactivity is the board policy, the entire board will be instantly wiped out to smithereens in one nuclear ban. You would even have to kill off yourself, though Denny might pull rank and creep out alive from under the inferno like a weasel. Where are these rules interred for safekeeping? After the nuclear ban, Denny might need them to preserve his side of the story to escape the judgement of history. Do the rules make an exception for him? What do they say about retroactivity? What if SecretAgentMan is Canzano? I'm worried.
Jason Quick @jwquick NBA commissioner David Stern tells The Oregonian Blazers owner Paul Allen has "definitively" told Stern to NOT send him prospective buyers
Canzano: "Stern's denial is exactly the sort of action a man keeping a secret sale secret would make."
So to tell Stern to not send him prosepective buyers, he wants the NBA to think he is not interested which clearly shows that he is in fact interested which is exactly what he wants people to think because he is fact not interested but wants you to beleive he is interested so that he can truly secretly sell the team. That Paul Allen is a crafty one . . .
I never understood the insane idea of Merritt Paulson as perspective buyer that Canzano was pushing. You need a much, much richer owner to buy an NBA franchise these days. Canzano is clearly throwing crap at the wall and seeing what will stick.
Because they would need the genius of Paulson? The Timbers Army is the real engine behind the small-scale success of that MLS franchise, Paulson gets way too much credit on BFT.
Most groups of investors usually have a guy up front calling the shots. Do they "need the genius" of him? Maybe not. But if he's the one organizing all of the donors together, then I guess so.
WTF? So small market of a columnist to continually state that the team is for sale when its not. Is he trying to convince PA to sell the team, or something. Pretty amateur stuff by Canzano, but par for the course.
If we had an honest local sports media, they would ask Canzano and Jaynes, "Now that your sources for those articles are proven liars, will you continue to speak to them, assuming of course, that they are outside your head?"
LOL, jlprk. I doubt that Canzano is going to convince PA to sell the team by continually saying he's selling the team. You know, if I put my mind to it, I could start a MUCH juicier rumor than that. Maybe I should and email Jaynes & Crapanzo. See how far they run with it.
