Glad to hear we don't have to waste time on him, but I will be said if Freeland doesn't wander over.

Loosely translated it says The team he plays for now has an answer regarding Claver going to the NBA or not, and he is not going to the NBA, and his current team will have him next season

What do you think the GM of his Spanish team would say?

I wouldn't take this as definitive. The Spanish press is notoriously unreliable.

Is this Claver saying this? his agent? or just his team's coach?

Freeland played really well against NBA bigs in the Olympics..

Kyle Singler absolutely dominated Claver in their head-to-head earlier this season. I really don't care if he comes over.

Freeland is getting way too much hype from some Blazer fans

    The Olympics haven't happened yet.

Was England basketball even in the last Olympics? The only reason they're allowed in this year's is because they're the host country.

There's no such thing as head-to-head domination in Euroball. Singler had a good game is all. Singler was given all the opportunities on a crappy team. When Singler moved to Real Madrid after that, his numbers plummeted.

I'm not saying Claver's the Bees Knees, but you keep repeating this little story like it means something and it doesn't. Oh, and look: in a more recent game Claver "dominated" Singler. Here's the video:

I kept reading the story and believed it till now. Freeland and Claver coming here the same season would be mutually self-destructive, so their entrance years should be staggered. But the article says this is the team speaking, not Claver, so we shall see.

True, but don't worry, it's balanced out by the trashing he gets from all the Europhobes who haven't even seen him play.

True. So for those of us who have seen him play, it's a double impact.

"Some" fans maybe, although I haven't really noticed that. My impression is that we have sunk so low that down looks like up. IOW, bringing in Freeland as a career backup would appear to be a big improvement over what we have now: which is ONE decent front court player on the current roster. And I think that's what most fans are hoping for: that Freeland will turn out to be a decent backup, maybe part of a three or four man rotation at the position. Since he doesn't cost us any assets to get him here, I am anxious for him to get here to see if he can play with the big boys. Now, if your evaluation is that he is less than NBA bench fodder, I can see your point.

In fairness, no one is saying that. So you aren't far out on that limb
