I have to say this is right on cue with Oden and the Heat. If Greg can come back in 2014 for the league minimum and bottom feed off of Lebron and Wade to win a championship I don't see why he wouldn't! The Heat can get a 7 footer for cheap and if he breaks again no worries.....NEXT.... Greg made 20 mill + and did nothing but put ice on his knees for it. Blaming Ptown for making him a drunk asshole which he perfected here is laughable! I think South Beach is a perfect place for Greg Drugs, thugs and fast women, a perfect place to rehab and find your career all over again! His agent may be as dumb as Greg is to even release this statement after GO's booze confessions in Portland. I lived in south beach for two years and can honestly say, this is not a place to go if you are trying to fix a substance problem.
Well, he may want to. There are things I want as well. But it's unlikely I'm going to get them. How many times do we have to hear "Greg Oden will be ready to play in _____ "? You know, to the bitter end I defended Oden. (He's no longer "Greg" to me.) I was ready to accept everything was just shit luck. Shit happens. Then it turns out he was drinking himself silly, blowing off rehab, and then blames the team/city/everyone - but himself. Now he says oh yeah, I'll be great elsewhere. Let elsewhere have him, then let's see what Simmons says when surprise surprise, Oden breaks somedamnthing else. Maybe 10 years from now he, like Bonzi Wells, will look back and regret.
South Beach would be a great place to hang out if you are in your early twenties and had millions of dollars and enjoyed the club scene ... Have fun Greg, you only live once.
You guys realize he will sign there and he will stay healthy and help them win at least 6 or 7 rings!
This doesn't really surprise me -- if there's one thing we learned about Greg is he's more about the lifestyle than he is basketball. In Miami, he wont have to think that hard playing next to LeBron and Wade.
Who wouldn't be interested in playing for the Heat? There's only so many Joel Przybilla's in the world. It's really too bad the Blazers dropped the ball on the curious case of Greg Oden, ohh what could have been. Regardless of Gregs own personal shortcomings, I wish him well.
IIRC one of the guys on 1080 talked Oden/Heat more than a year or two ago? Silver lining: We don't have to deal with a healthy Oden bolting after his second contract like what LeBron and 'Melo did to their smallmarket cities.
This is why I don't believe the story about his blind dog "accidentaly" falling off the 8th story balcony.
I don't think so. But if he does (sign) and they do (win), then I think it will conclusively prove that the Blazers are indeed cursed.
