Don't you guys have better things to do than to re-start the whole birther thing? It SCREAMS of desperation.

Plus, it brings back into the public eye that complete nut job Alan Keyes.

I think Papa has a valid point. In fact, I had never thought of it like this. I've always believed Obama was born in the U.S. I still do. This isn't a "birther" issue. It might actually be a final solution. It's certainly possible there was a period of time Obama claimed to have been born in Kenya. In his world, at that time, I could see many benefits to fibbing about such a thing. Interesting. If this comes out as the facts of the situation, the birthers will become the "Obama lied to gain a stronger minority status and credibility amongst his peirs-ers" Birthers is much easier to say.

Let's have him run a marathon. If he wins, he's Kenyan, and he's out. If he loses, he isn't fit to be President. Problem solved.

What I don't understand is how he gets away with calling fellow Kenyan Kanye West a jackass.

I often confuse "Kenya" with "Hawaii" when I'm visiting Hawaii.

"Hey hun, what time is our flight to Kenya? Errrr, Hawaii!"

Clearly a birther time-traveled to 1991 and planted this reference to a Kenyan birth into this bio. Otherwise, one might conclude that they were right to at least wonder about this nonsense. :dunno:

It speaks to credibility and character.

    Jeesh.

Some people put a LOT of stock into that and feel they have a right to know about their candidates so they can make a better informed choice.

The guy was trying to sell a book. Being born in Kenya is more interesting. I think he was born in Hawaii, but has only a casual relationship with the truth, and only when it's convenient. In other words, a typical politician. The con job was people thinking he was different. Suckers.

    I agree.

The odds that Obama didn't know about the bio all those years is very, very, very, very low. He either planted the "fact" or failed to correct it on purpose.

Now, it makes me ever more curious about his university transcripts. Wonder what lies are in there?

Isn't Mitt Romney an animated Brooks Brothers mannequin?

I mean if we're going to split hairs here at least Obama is human.

Have you noticed that he never sends drones to Kenya?

He's preserving the Kenyan Way of Life and it's coming here. He slipped tax credits for huts into the Defense Bill of 2012.

Maybe you think your cute, but this stuff matters.

It is up to each voter to decide for herself. But, they need info to do it. The majority of media failed horribly in 2008 by giving Obama a free ride while doing the usual on the rest of the candidates.

If Obama had been exposed as an official liar at the time, they could have delivered whatever smartass comment that you would have found hilarious. (all the nominees are liars, we are the most exciting of the lying bunch). Other voters, maybe not so much.

Yeah, I don't really care that he apparently lied about where he was born at one point to make himself seem more interesting. That stuff is commonplace. What would be concerning to me, however, is the millions of dollars he's spent to try and keep covering for that lie, and the efforts he and his camp have made to smear and discredit anyone who didn't fully buy his story.

That's where the true character flaw lies, IMO. Just fucking OWN IT. Yeah, I told people I was from Kenya. Yeah, I got some financial help for it in college, and cut in front of some people. Who cares?
