Aren't they already mediocre? They're about to get swept out of the second round for the second straight year.

1st of all, Blake hit the three that iced Game 4 against Denver and then in Game 7, he scored more points (19) than Kobe (17). It's funny that they get mad at Blake for missing the game winner in Game 2 vs Thunder since Kobe misses game winners like that all the time. Remember the game where Kobe hit all those threes to come back against Denver? Well, he missed the three that could've taken the lead and then another three that could've sent it into OT. Where are the death threats against Kobe?

 

Eric you need to post that question on lakers ground.

 

Blanky has a higher PER in the playoffs so far than Sessions.

Sessions has been a fucking disaster. They should have kept Fisher.

 

I also believe there are some statistics showing that Kobe actually has a very low success percent on last minute shots over the last five years. I think Black Mamba has also commented on this.

In fact, just as I have been typing this, Kobe has missed three straight shots in the last minute of a close game.

Last time I saw death threats on a message board, it was on ESPN non-Blazer boards, in the frenzied buildup to the Iraq War. They intimidated us to post less, but we were right that the war would be a pointless murderous giant mess.

After the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Escobar decided to return to Colombia instead of visiting relatives in Las Vegas, Nevada.[7] On the evening of 2 July 1994, Escobar called his friends, and they went to a bar in the El Poblado, Medellín neighbourhood. Then they went to a liquor store. Shortly afterwards, they arrived at the "El Indio" nightclub. His friends split up.[9] At approximately 3 a.m., Escobar was alone in the parking lot of "El Indio" bar, located in a Medellín suburb. Escobar was in his car, when three men appeared. They began arguing with him. Two of the men took out handguns.[10] It was reported that the killer shouted "¡Gracias por el auto gol en la propia puerta!" (Spanish for "Thanks for scoring on your own goal!") for each of the 12 bullets fired.[11] The killer shot Escobar with a .38 caliber pistol.[5] The group then took off in a Toyota pickup truck. Escobar was escorted to the hospital and was pronounced dead 45 minutes later.[10][12]

The murder was widely believed to be a "punishment" for the goal that spiraled off his leg and went into his own goal.[13] It is not clear whether the murderer was connected to one of the gambling syndicates who had bet large amounts of money on Colombia to qualify for the second round. In the UK, the BBC issued a public apology the following day after its football pundit Alan Hansen commented during another match that "the Argentine defender wants shooting for a mistake like that".[14]

Escobar's funeral was attended by over 120,000 people. Every year people honor Escobar by bringing photographs of him to matches.[4][15] In July 2002, the city of Medellín unveiled a statue in honor of his memory.[16]

Humberto Castro Muñoz, a bodyguard for members of a powerful Colombian cartel, was arrested on the night of 2 July 1994, confessing on 3 July 1994 to the killing Escobar.[17] Muñoz also worked as a driver for Peter David and Juan Santiago Gallon Henao, who allegedly bet heavily on the Colombian team and was upset at having lost.[18] He was found guilty of Escobar's murder in June 1995. He was sentenced to 43 years in prison. The sentence was later reduced to 26 years because of his submitting to the ruling penal code in 2001. Humberto was released on good behavior due to further reductions from prison work and study in 2005 after serving approximately 11 years. His three accomplices were not charged.
