As I've said before, I wish the South had won the Civil War. The U.S. would be a modern, liberal, European, nonwarlike world leader full of nudist beaches. To the south would be 2 Mexicos, sweating in their poverty.
The fact that democrats are socialistic and sometimes communistic in their philosophies is nothing new. Centralizing power to a very small minority and "providing" and controlling the masses. I suppose it can work were it not for the fact we're a large and diverse country. Also, you'd have to have some serious good leadership which really would never happen in this society. That's one of the reasons I am no longer a democrat. I went from democrat to republican to independent.
A quote attributed to Margaret Thatcher goes along the lines of "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]." or "Eventually, Socialists run out of other peoples' money [to spend]."
To return to the chart, the point is that while conservatives think they support liberals, it's really conservatives who always have their palms out for a handout.
The point, which should be obvious to anyone intelligent enough to play constructively with legos, is that Republicans are overwhelmingly hypocritical leeches sucking up the bulk of taxpayer's money by sponging off social services and entitlement programs while blaming the Democrats who overwhelmingly pay their own way and then some.
The chart is evidence that FDR's policies still lives with us. You can't have rural electrification, for example, without taking money from the economically strong states and giving it to the economically weaker ones.
You're right, the North should do to the South what the South did to Irag, take away the reliable electricity that Sadaam gave it. The South used to be a Scarlett O'Hara paradise for the rich plantation owners and Hell for everyone else. Now they seek to plant their ethos in the rest of the country while sponging off our taxes, as the chart proves.
