Police have identified the 63-year-old Portland woman killed Saturday night in a hit-and-run on West Burnside Street.

Officers responding to a report of a body in the road found Nancy Margaret Schoeffler about 11:20 p.m. near Southwest Tichner Drive, said Lt. Robert King, a spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau. Schoeffler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators announced Monday they are looking for two women and a "vehicle of interest" in connection with the incident.

The women were seen arguing later Saturday night near a dark green, mid-1990s to early 2000s Honda Accord in a QFC parking lot at 7525 S.W. Barnes Rd, just more than two miles from where Schoeffler's body was found, King said. One of the women then got something out of the car, which had front hood damage and a shattered windshield on the driver's side.

King described the damage as "being more consistent with hitting a person rather than a pole or tree."

The women were described as being in their mid to late 20s and short, with a medium to heavy build. Both were wearing baseball caps, possibly with Timbers logos.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the incident, the vehicle or the two women to call Officer Eric Koppang at 503-823-2216.

KGW reported them as being drunk Timbers fans. I guess both women were dressed in Timbers gear besides just hats.

You never hear about Blazer fans running over innocent people. This is just one more example of why soccer is a violent sport and should be banned!

Can Womens Libbers make a cause out of a woman being killed, if a man didn't do it? Surely these two women were victimized by men somewhere in the past, which caused them to take it out on the dead woman.

A hit & run murder is serious business. I would think a minimum of 7 years each in the penitentiary.

You often hear about those darn bicyclists hitting people and the people dying from embarassment. Much worse than dying from fatal injuries from a car.
