If we trade one of the Lotto picks, which one is more likely to go?

I'd guess the 6th if we can get a very good player with it, perhaps combined with capspace, and perhaps moving down with a later 1st round pick (with the player we get) as well. Thoughts?

The 6th definitely holds the most value. We just don't have much to package with it right now. That's the reason why we have so much cap space. We're low on tradeable assets.

I'm nervous with this draft because of the management in place.

What I fear: going after Paul Milsap and Darren Collison.

This team needs a re-build, not a quick fix.

And that's why we should seriously consider trading Aldridge.

I don't think we need much to package it (the 6th) with - I think packaging it with "capspace" would be a lot of incentive for a team looking to unolad salary for a good draft pick who commands a much, much lower salary

The 6th has more value than the 11th?

    You don't say...

Before his hip issue I'd offer the Wiz LaMarcus (package?) for Wall.

Offering him now fresh out of surgery is a bit insulting to Washington.

In some cases a team might want a guy that they know will be there around 10 or 11. They'd rather trade for a lower lottery pick than a mid lottery pick like the 6th. Let's say someone is interested in Waiters or Lillard, why trade for the 6th when they can get the 11th and get the same guy?

Would the 1st pick hold more value than the 6th pick?

    I'm struggling here.

Oh, OK. You said "definitely", so I guess I got confused on what you meant by "definitely".

    So, you didn't mean definitely.

I got your point after you explained it. Sorry to make a joke about the 6th pick having more value than the 11th pick. Seemed funny to me. You'll have to let me know when you're being serious.

I think the odds of the Blazers keeping both picks are quite small at this point.

As a side note, did anybody notice that one of the three or four GM finalists, Olshey, if a client of Warren LaGarie? Does that rule him out, meaning that it's likely either Morway or Bower?

Canzano mentioned it recently. Doesn't bode well for Mr. Olshey.

If Batum covets too much money - then complete a sign & trade and pick up another draft pick in the deal. For example, sign and trade Batum to Toronto for the 8th pick.

Then, package 8 and 11 and move up in a trade for the #2 - Let Cho build a young team in Charlotte and retain cap space for next year or the year after.

We draft Kidd-Gilchrist (SF) with #2 and Drummond (C) with #6.

THEN, pull out all stops for DWill and sign JJ Hickson.

    DWill / Smith / Flynn
    Matthews / EWill
    Kidd-Gilchrist / Babbitt / 2nd rounder
    LMA / Hickson
    Drummond / Pryzbilla / Thomas

We can't sign Batum until after the moratorium, so the trade would have to be a "you pick this guy for us and we'll trade you Batum in July".
