The below players will be eating up some of our cap space. Most are mediocre prospects, that definitely have some value but not much more then the cost of their contract. If a team like the Bobcats or Kings is interested we should consider trading away these players if we can get equal value. I think I'd consder Freeland to have the most value. But if we could dump all the others (or Freeland too depending on what else is in a trade) its definetely an option the team needs to consider. ~$8million of addional cap space would be more useful then these guys.

    Shawne Williams 3,135,000
    Luke Babbitt 1,892,280
    Kurt Thomas 1,352,181
    Elliot Williams 1,442,880
    Nolan Smith 1,365,720
    [Victor Claver] [#22 in 2009] 1,045,600
    [Joel Freeland] [#30 in 2006] 850,800

Less $470k cap holds for above 7 players (3,290,000)
    Potential cap savings $7,794,461

Only guy I would take off that list is Ewill, even though injured at 1.4 mil he has swown enough flashes to keep another year easily IMO

Hmm, Freeland and Luke are the most interesting to me. All the rest can go away. Luke is a shooter, every team needs a guy like him. He also showed that he is developing a few moves to the hoop. He is a keeper. Freeland is someone I would like to see play with the big boys, not just hear how he has done in the minor leagues. But it is time to fish or cut bait with him.

Keep only LA and EW...Matthews has proved to be very inconsistent as all our jump shooters were last year...Babbitt got it done the 2nd half of the season so I wouldn't mind keepin him as well!

I agree with Nate. The real question is, what could you get for LA, Wes and the 2 picks?

Oooh, this could be fun! Trying to be realistic, what do you think is the maximum number of first-round picks in this year's draft you think you'd be able to pick up through trades?

Replacement Euro SF in case we choose not to match an unreasonable offer to Batum?

It just depends on what you want to deal and how high or low you want to go. To get into the top three, we'd have to move some weight. I think we could get Charlotte to deal us the 2nd pick for the right price, but is there someone in the top three outside of Davis that would be as good as Aldridge is now?

I've said it before: I'd trade any player/players on our roster except LA and Nico for another lottery pick.

I just dont agree. I highly doubt we do anything other th an overspend on average players if we have more cap room.
    Keep Aldridge and Wes
Every team needs shooters so keep Babbitt
EW is the uber athlete with an aggressive attitude, and on the cheap, so keep him.
Freeland I have been following for years Now and I think he should translate well to the nba, and a least worth a shot, so keep him.

    Re-sign batum

    Then cut the rest.

The blazers would still have around 12mil to work with.

Pick two superstars with the 6th and 11th

    Done

Yes. I'd take Babbitt over Wes as a prospect, but if there was a game tomorrow I'd take Wes.

I don't think you could get anything in return for any of these players; except possibly Elliot Williams if he can pass a physical; they can only be used as filler in a trade (if we trade draft picks for an star) or as a way to retain cap space after the trade.

Trade anyone not named Lamarcus for Rajon Rondo. Go from there.
