Anybody know anything about this guy? Hoopsworld has us picking him at #11, but I've never even heard of him. Could he actually go this high? http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-draft
Not a fan. Especially at 11. He's pretty athletic but his skill level isn't that impressive. Not a great defender and doesn't protect the rim. Chad said one of there priorities was to find a young big the complements LMA and I don't see it at all with Moultrie. Much rather see us trade up from 6 without having to use our pick to grab T-Rob or take Sullinger there.
He made a huge mistake by returning to Ohio State. Had he opted for the draft after his freshman year he would have been a lock to be a top-5 pick -- this year he'll be lucky to be a mid-late lotto pick.
With respect to Moultire (and thanks to MM for his research thread): Negatives Spends too much time on the perimeter Needs to add strength Poor free throw shooter He's also a duplication to LA. We don't need that.
He shot 78% from the FT line according to DraftExpress. Dude looks like he has the frame to play C in the NBA as well.
Don't know much about him... There are other players I like instead of him though... P.Jones T.Jones Sullinger or some wing players like Rivers, Ross, Waiters
While it's a blast to talk about potential future Blazers, it's almost pointless until workouts and the pre draft camp measurements
He's one of the few players in the draft I haven't really watched play much. Size wise he's interesting.
You nailed it, MM. I think that most 21 year-olds have a lower ceiling than 19 year-olds... if they're sliding to 11 or so, then they have holes in their games... which is OK, except insofar as a player who's had three years since high school should have it more figured out by then, IMO. A 21 year-old near-7 footer can overwhelm younger/weaker/smaller players without having a higher skill level, and those kinds of players worry me. Ed O.
