It's probably going to take a year or three of picking in the lotto to replenish the talent pool and then hopefully you get lucky and one or two of the picks turn into something special. If you could trade Aldridge ideally it would be for a high lotto pick, otherwise you might as well keep him -- and I haven't seen a single person advocating dumping him for nothing, but maybe I missed that.
Too expensive... Too big of an ego... Showing signs of slowing down... TOO OLD... Easy pass on this idea.
http://sportstwo.com/threads/214765-Fielding-offers-for-LMA-(hypothetical...) A shot at Cody Zeller? Pretty close to nothing in my book as far as being assured of a franchise-level talent. And a year or three in the lotto and then waiting another 3-5 years until the talent matures enough to compete? Yeah, I'm definitely not on board with that plan.
I guess we all have different opinions on what constitutes "nothing" Zeller doesn't do much for me, but Fez thinks he's going to be great so that's not advocating getting rid of him for peanuts. In my mind dumping him means shipping him for Channing Frye and Steve Francis ...
