Olshey workd PA for a bigger paycheck because he's factoring in his unemployment wage in 13 months.... His agent probably pushed for it, smart!
Neil Olshey isn't even the official GM yet and you're already calling him an attention whore? That's cold.
So Olshey is bad b\c he was offered a 3yr with a 4th team option from POR and the Clips refused to match? Pretty standard procedure in any workplace, particularly after what he had done for the Clips franchise, finishing 3rd in executive of the yea voting (with many saying he should have won it), being on a month to month contract and paid on the cheap by NBA GM standard by a notoriously penny pinching owner.... I don't find any blame here with Olshey on that.... I have become convinced that the #1 thing a GM must have when working for Paul Allen is the ability to SELL his ideas\moves to Paul....Say what you will about Whitsitt, but he had that ability, Pritchard had it for a short time and then overplayed his hand with the whole MIN\Penn fiasco, that was probably the end for him right there....Cho had the vision, but was an awkward guy and couldn't sell it to Paul..... Olshey can sell his vision, he sold it to Streling who IMO may be crazier than Allen, and certainly is the biggest cheap wad in the NBA...and moreso his vision paid off...the moves worked, the Clips made the 2nd round and thier future looks good. I don't know if he will be great for POR or not, but out of all the names that were realistic for POR he was the best choice IMO..... Now, on to the head coaching hire....
