on The MMA Hour just now.

Penn recently turned down a fight with Koscheck. No word on when and if Penn will return, and if it will be at welterweight.

MacD trying to build his brand. With Fitch & Alves injured, Hendricks and Kampmann likely to fight, Condit and GSP on the shelf--there isn't much else out there for him. Surprised he didn't get the Bahadurzada fight but there's two guys that would have to agree to it.

Edit: MacDonald just said he wouldn't have accepted, not enough time to prepare.

I don't think this fight will resemble MacDonald/Diaz, as some are suggesting. Penn is almost impossible to take down. It dramatically changes the style of the fight. Penn should have a significant boxing advantage despite a nearly 7" reach disadvantage. Should be a competitive fight!

MacDonald wants to do it in Toronto (Sept. 22). Gives Penn 3.5-months to prepare. Penn, as usual, is promising major changes to his training camp.
