It's not just the shooting, it's the ability to use his size effectively, take up space, get off clean looks even if the touch is iffy, etc. Drummond has none of that.
He is an 18 year old though. A year young for his class. Did Bynum know any of that coming into the league? Favors? Obviously you do your homework and make sure the guy has a work ethic but if that checks out then why would you assume that because a guy is far off that he'll never improve enough to be NBA caliber? That's how Bynum slipped to 10, and the Lakers capitalized on it (and protected their investment by hiring Kareem to personally coach him).
Lamb is a quirky dude...he has the vision\desire\IQ to create offense for himself, but not so much to do so for anyone else
Suffice to say, you're not really God. God could fix this. Or he'd at least know better than to confide in this board for answers.
I think in some respects that could be correct....maybe kind of like those guys but without all the off\on court bs..... The more I look at him the more I think he will be a scorer in this league, but not a necessarily a go-to guy....He could be like a #3 scorer type....But I don't see him putting a team on his back and carrying it...but with 2 other good players around him, he could be effective....he certainly has some very good offensive skill.... Maybe like a Rudy Gay?
Agreed. But that wasn't my point. I'm saying Drummond is super raw, much more so than Oden, not that there aren't reasons for it which might be addressable. (For anyone that disagrees, how do you explain two nearly identical physical/athletic specimens being so dramatically different in where they're pegged in their respective drafts?)
With Drummond I know he has the defensive skills and frankly i could less about the offense. That would just be icing on the cake.
