i like the way leonard runs through cones, and lifts heavy things, seems like a good pick

Give me a break, you are no effing expert either....So you watched a couple of games and that makes your OPINION carry more than others? Bullshit.

I have seen him play, I know people who have played against him and they don't think much of him either....and from what I have seen of him and from what other scouts whose opinions probably matter more than everyone on this message board combined his future as an NBA player is not very promising...

...the guy has got a good NBA body, he is tall and he is athletic, they all say that...but after that, if you read more than just the headlines and then you watch him play you start to see all the typical big man red flags...mechanical movements, no real post game (except for an inconsistent hook shot), can get pushed around on defense...players with those sorts of traits usually end up as journeyman centers like Chris Mihm, they don't become all stars, let alone top 1/2 of the NBA starters...and even if he could by some miracle become that player it won't be for several years and most likely on another team...like Spencer Hawes.....

POR can do better....much better at #11....

He's been climbing into the top 10 on most boards. Not sure what that has to do with Nolan Smith who wasn't even predicted to go in the 1st round.

hopefully he participates in some group workouts, hes the kinda guy who is going to look better than he is doing individuals...if he brings it against the rest of the best, that will prove something

cone running is not what we need from a center

He was already here...and several people who saw part of the workout stated that Zeller looked better....

Is he? I didn't realize the draft was today or that the players were already "locked in" to certain picks? And frankly I don't really care if some other team reaches (Thabeet) for him, it just means a better player drops to POR....

Chris Mihm played like he had ankle weights on.

He looks like a more athletic/agile Robin Lopez (whom NBAdraft.net compares him to)...

He does remind me of somebody ... a more athletic Roy Hibbert? (when he was at Gerogetown)

His case (not his game) kind of reminds me of that Vucevic kid that went to Philly in the middle of the first last year after quickly rising up the board as the process went on. I thought that guy was going to be a colossal bust, but it just goes to prove you never know.

Vucevic has a soft jumper. He shot 38% from 3 land.

Right, that's why I made the disclaimer that I wasn't comparing their games, just their situations and maybe the perception of each coming into the league -- a tendency to bias against white centers.

Very true. What seperates Leonard from say Cole Aldrich in my opinion is that he's skilled and athletic. Aldrich looked so methodical at Kansas.
