Italy/Spain was a letdown but Ireland/Croatia was a pretty good game.

At this rate the marquee game is the one to skip each day.

I just don't think he brings anything informative with his analysis. He is a name and face that the American public recognizes (to a degree), which I get is important in trying to build soccer in the US, but he severely lacks the soccer IQ to properly break down the game.

On a similar note, is this Keller's first commentating gig? As the color commentator he seems to not know when he is supposed to chime in yet. I forget which game I was watching, but there were so many lulls when normally the color guy would come in. I've never seen him as a in game commentator, so I just figured this was him learning on the job. It could have just been a bad game for him though.

Good first half from England and France. Both teams looking to win it.

France completely outplayed England but had to settle for the 1-1 draw.

Very cool seeing Ukraine and Shevchenko beat Sweden in front of the home crowd. The second header from Shevchenko for a goal was flawless.

ugh Keller was murder on the ears! Throw the Seattle hate aside, Whatever game it was the other day, I didnt know it was him commenting, but I wanted to die. He awkwardly chimed in randomly with "This match is starting to heat up, just like a certain game 7 tonight that will be played with the Celtics and Heat" then there was about 3 seconds of awkward silence.

I actually don't mind Keller's analysis, because it's rare that you get a keeper's perspective during the game. It's nice to hear things from a defensive perspective at times.

Steve McManaman was brutal today in his homerism for England, though, and especially in the first half. England looked like shit, frankly, and they still don't get Rooney back for one more game, yet McManaman really only commented on England for much of the match.

Yeah, he was pretty bad today. The pbp guys literally asking him question after question trying to get him to say anything at one point. In the Germany game, they showed that Podolski was on on his 97(or close to that) cap and that he was tying Ballack. His response, after another lull, was 'theres...two...great players' and that was it (and his actual quote was probably even more brutal).

Yeah, I felt good for Sheva there. After all the shit he went through at Chelsea, it was great to see him do well. I don't even know where he's playing at anymore. The best, or worst from the Swedish perspective, part of that 2nd goal was that Ibra was marking him. I know he's tall, but why the fuck would you have Ibra mark one of the strikers on a corner?

I think you under value Lalas when it comes to his general appeal/knowledge and subsequently how his point of view is respected by the ignorant yet growing soccer fan base in America. At this point he's very valuable to the future of soccer in America. I'm not trying to be a dick, but the soccer "snobbery" should cease. America is about to burst with soccer love. Support it at every cost. It could seriously pay off. Especially with all the concussion issues the NFL is facing. The tide is turning. Turn with it.

Wow, Denmark making a comeback. The last 5-10 minutes of this game are going to be hectic.

Hell of a turning strike. Surprised he had time to get two swings on it.

Yeah. I'd like to see the defender do a little more, but you can't really fault him. I really thought that last play with about 1:00 to go by Denmark was going to result in a goal. That lay off pass was great, but the shot was crap.

Denmark-Portugal by far the best match of the tournament so far.

How about Ronaldo not once, but TWICE, losing a 1 v. 0 run at the keeper? That second effort, where he missed the right post by 10 feet, was embarrassing. I thought for sure that Bendker's goal would be the final score, and that Ronaldo would have insane pressure on him against the Dutch.

Germany looking very good, aren't they?

Times have changed when a guy named Gomez is the German striker.
