"With his status in limbo and a 30-day window to talk to other teams set to expire soon, Blues president John Davidson is continuing to weigh his options — and one option might be the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Post-Dispatch has learned.

Davidson met with Blue Jackets' officials in Columbus last week and is believed to have had discussions with that club about a similar position, according to NHL sources.

Davidson, who has been the Blues' president for six years but might be moving on following a change in ownership May 9, declined to comment Thursday. The Blue Jackets issued a "no comment" to the Columbus Dispatch.

In an interview with the Post-Dispatch on May 24, two weeks after Tom Stillman's group took control of the franchise, Davidson acknowledged that his future with the franchise was uncertain.

He signed a four-year contract extension in May 2011, but the deal included a 30-day window, which triggered when the team was sold, in which he could pursue other opportunities."
